That joke from Demirović will be remembered...

On a hot June 25, 2014 in Brazil, the football players of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Iran for their first victory in World Cup history; a little less than 12 years later, the "dragons" recorded their first draw.

They drew with Canada at the start of Group B and when everything is added up - they can be satisfied, despite the fact that they had the advantage from the 21st to the 78th minute, which could easily have made it 2:0...

The final 1:1, however, was a measure of the "dragons" because Canada missed chances after 0:1, and BiH players made two saves from the goal line before having to take the ball out of the net about twenty minutes before the end.

BiH fans created a fantastic atmosphere on the streets of Toronto throughout the day, and it was reflected in the stands, where there were probably around ten thousand of them, and when Jovo Lukić scored his first goal for the national team in the 21st minute, it seemed like it could be the day of the "dragons".

As time went on, however, the Canadians took control of the field, reached dangerous zones more easily, and went on the offensive from the start of the second half.

Thus, Sead Kolašinac and Nikola Katić guarded the net when it seemed that a goal for the home team was inevitable, and between those two great reactions from the defenders, the Bosnian striker was "born".

Ermedin Demirović had it in the 55th minute, at the height of the opponent's dominance, when he went out alone at the goalkeeper and got tangled up.

In football, such a miss rarely goes unpunished - BiH had to come to terms with the fact that it had squandered its chance long before that 78th minute when Kone easily passed through the opponent's midfield, the ball reached Larin, and with the help of Katić, he sent the ball into goalkeeper Vasilj's net.

Bosnia and Herzegovina played without Edin Dzeko, and their next match is on June 18th against Switzerland (21 p.m.), while in the final round their rival is outsider Qatar.
