A Somali referee who was denied entry to the US will receive his full World Cup salary.
Omar Artan will receive his full fee even though he will not referee the 2026 World Cup.
Artan was denied entry to the United States, where he was supposed to referee World Cup matches.
According to BBC Sport, FIFA has agreed to pay the referee his full salary, even though he will not be taking part in the biggest tournament.
Referees do not know in advance the exact amount of their World Cup salaries. They are paid after the tournament ends.
Artan was included on the list of World Cup referees, but due to the entry ban, he will not be assigned to the matches.
Meanwhile, UEFA has entrusted him with the role of referee in the European Super Cup, between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa.
Omar Hartman is considered one of the best referees in Africa.
