Carlo Ancelotti arrived in Brazilian football with a bang. The famous coach was expected to lead the famous national team out of the crisis it had been in for a decade, but in practice it seems to be much more difficult than in theory.
Carleto took the "Carioca" to the World Cup and did not become famous there - neither he as a coach who won everything, nor the Brazilians as the most trophy-winning football nation on the planet.
Brazil stopped in the round of 16, eliminated by Norway, so criticism is pouring in at the expense of the Italians because it must be stated that their selection did not leave a special impression.
The most energetic was Romario, who even had to apologize for his vocabulary...
- I would tell Ancelotti to go to hell. I would tell him: "Take that f...u ticket and go to Italy," Romario said.
He quickly became aware that he had overdone it.
- I want to retract this part with the swearing, that was too harsh on my part. Ancelotti is a gentleman, a decent and good person and he didn't deserve it. But I would definitely terminate his contract and send him home - added Romario.
Ancelotti's contract was extended just before the World Cup.
- I would terminate his contract immediately. As soon as the match with Norway was over, I would enter the dressing room if I were the president and say: "Thank you very much, goodbye". There is no way Ancelotti will remain the coach after this fiasco and the embarrassment he has caused. Something has to change, it can't go on like this - Romario stressed.
This is Ancelotti's first coaching job in his career.
- Ancelotti can't play here like he did at Real Madrid, because he was there for five years and trained those players every day. He had little time here, and in that short period he did absolutely nothing. He was there in 19 games, and in only two did he start with the same 11 players. The man wanted to experiment at the World Cup. That's unacceptable - concluded the "king of scorers".
