Mbappe: "We are happy to reach the semi-finals, but we have a long way to go"

Perhaps more easily than expected, the French national football team defeated Morocco in the quarterfinals of the World Cup (2:0) and secured a new place in the semifinals.

One of the heroes of the "tricolor" victory was Kylian Mbappe. Although Yacine Bono saved his penalty in the first half of the match, he managed to redeem himself with a brilliant goal in the second half, which unlocked the Moroccans' net.

Also, the Real Madrid player tied with Leo Messi at the top of this year's World Cup scorers list with eight goals, while on the all-time list he is again only one goal behind the Argentine.

"There is only one way to relax, and that is to win. Until we achieve that, we will not give up. We are in the semi-finals and we are very happy, but we still have a long way to go. We are aware that what is coming is even more difficult than what we have already gone through, but we are ready to face everything," Mbappe said after the match.

He had to leave the field due to an injury, however, it appears to be nothing serious.

"I have a minor ankle injury, but I'm fine. Mateta was in a better position to play the remaining minutes of the game and was more ready at that moment. That's all that happened."
