Kane believes England can do better: "We're in the semi-finals and we're not playing our best football"

For the fourth time in history, and the first since 2018, England are in the semi-finals of the World Cup. "Proud Albion" beat the Norwegians 2-1 last night after 120 minutes of great struggle.

The hero was Jude Bellingham, who scored both goals for England.

The weather conditions were not in favor of either team. Harry Kane found it worse playing in the scorching heat of Miami than at "Aztec", which is located over 2000 meters above sea level.

"We put in a huge effort. It seemed harder than the game in Mexico. The heat and humidity really affected us. We had to find a way, especially in the second half and extra time. Our determination and fighting spirit were crucial," said Kane.

Bellingham was a hero...

"I keep talking about those heroic moments. At the moment it seems like it's either me or Jude who's scoring the goals, but today everyone was brilliant. Jude gets the credit and deservedly so, he scored two fantastic goals in the most important game to take us to the semi-finals. "To win any trophy and go far in a tournament, you need players who can decide games. You need players who are ready to pull out every last ounce of energy and take their team to the finish line with their moves. Jude did that for us today."

Millimeters separated Kane from scoring his seventh goal of the tournament at the end of the first half.

"I think the offside was really tight. It annoyed me at the time. I also think we should have had a penalty, which could have easily been awarded. But in the end it doesn't matter. We're in the semi-finals and that's all that matters."

Now comes the semi-finals against Argentina (Wednesday, 21pm), the defending champions.

"I've watched us train and seen the quality we have, especially in the final third of the pitch. We haven't been able to fully show that yet. However, we're in the semi-finals of the World Cup and we haven't played our best football yet. If we can show that on Wednesday, it could make the difference between winning and losing this tournament. Now we'll enjoy the victory, recover, and in a few days we'll start preparing for the next game," Kane underlined.
