Kane: England can do much better, we haven't reached our maximum yet

England captain Harry Kane said today that his team has yet to show their best performance at the World Cup, despite reaching the semi-finals.

England defeated Norway 2-1 in the quarter-finals after extra time, and will face Argentina in the final on Wednesday (21).

After the match, coach Thomas Tuchel criticized his team's performance, saying that England was lucky, made too many technical mistakes, and did not play fast enough.

"When he watches us in training and sees the quality we have, the way we attack, the one-on-one play and the individual abilities of the players, he wants to see that version in the games as well," Kane said, as reported by (BBC).

The England captain pointed out that Tuchel understands that it is not easy to play against the strongest teams, but that he is trying to get the most out of the team.

"He knows it's not that easy, because we're playing against very high-quality opponents. He's trying to get the best out of us, and we ourselves know that we have another level we can reach," said Kane.

Kane added that England have only occasionally shown their full potential so far.

"We showed that in some parts of the game against Norway, but we still didn't have the full control of the game that we wanted. In the semi-finals we face one of the best teams in the world, but the most important thing is that we are among the top four teams and that we still feel that we can progress. I don't think we need to make a big drama, because we are showing a lot of good things," said Kane.

The 32-year-old striker scored six goals at this year's World Cup and shares first place with Jude Bellingham on the list of England's top scorers at the tournament.
