"The Montenegro Times" about the beauties of Montenegro in English
In the first year, "Montenegro times" will be published by the end of August, and if there is interest in the following years, in a period of half a year
The first issue of the weekly "Montenegro times", which represents the new ND "Vijesti" project, is published today. It will be printed in English, and distributed in 10.000 copies for free at airports, restaurants, hotels...
The editor of "Montenegro times" Mark Thomas believes that the newspaper in English about the beauties of Montenegro "is a completely natural step that follows the growth of interest in Montenegro as a tourist destination".
In the first issue of the weekly, as Tomas says, most of Montenegro will be covered.
"This is a land of contrasts and colors... If I concentrate only on the coast, I miss half of Montenegrin's beauty. In the first issue, we tried to cover as much as possible, but considering that it is a country with such beauties, the rest will be covered by the end of the season", he said.
In the first year, "Montenegro times" will be published until the end of August, and if there is interest, it will be published in the following years for a period of half a year.
"In these times when tourism is so important for the future of Montenegro, precise information in a language that guests can understand is of vital importance", pointed out Tomas and added that the newspaper will not include politics or bad news because he believes that nobody wants to reads about it.
Successful project of Dubrovnik
Tomas is the honorary British consul in Dubrovnik and has also been editing "DubrovnikTimes" for ten years.
"'Dubrovnik times' turned out to be a very successful project. We distribute around 5.000 copies every week during the summer season at all the most important tourist spots in the city," he explained.
As he says, the project arose from the idea of creating a newspaper that would entertain the guests of Dubrovnik. "When they read the newspaper, they are better informed and able to make the most of their time in the city," emphasizes Tomas.
