Game Changer Montenegro: Technological sensation in the Mediterranean

The first Game Changer Festival Montenegro powered by Crnogorski Telekom was held last Sunday. During the three festival days, the foundations were laid for the largest technological event in the Mediterranean.

In the unique ambience of the amphitheater at the top of Lovcen, an exciting evening was held in honor of technological achievements and visionaries - awarding of the first Game Changer Montenegro awards - ceremony partner Philip Morris International for 2024!

Game Changer Awards Montenegro 2024 brought brilliance and inspiration to the domestic technology scene, highlighting the most progressive technology companies and individuals who are key to the promotion of new technologies in Montenegro.

Across 16 exciting categories, the awards recognize excellence in various sectors of the technology industry. However, the biggest delight was the awarding of the main prize START UP OF THE YEAR for the most promising Montenegrin company with global potential.

This exceptional award went to Archangel Studios, the company behind one of the most successful video game launches - Bleak Faith, whose innovation and dedication are an inspiration to us all! The video game Bleak Faith Forsaken will soon gain global popularity thanks to the publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment, which decided to support the great Montenegrin team, whose backbone consists of the brothers Rade and Mišo Vukčević.

The Game Changer Awards Montenegro 2024 were much more than awarding awards and celebrating achievements – they were moments of inspiration and reflection on the future of technology in Montenegro. During the gala evening, more than 240 distinguished guests enjoyed the ceremony, which ended with a spectacular performance by the Dancing Queen ABBA tribute band.

The conversation was preceded by the showing of the video Message from Ella, which left all the guests breathless. During the conversation, Game Changer opened up a very important topic: can technology have a more humane character? This inspiring discussion once again reminded of the importance of ethical and humanely oriented technology development.

Bold Talk: Transformation begins with innovation

Bold Talk with Radmil Vlačić, director of commercial operations for the Serbian and Montenegrin markets in the Southeast Europe region of Philip Morris International.

During the BOLD TALK conversation, Radmilo Vlačić told how the complete transformation of business at Philip Morris International, which has been working for more than 15 years on research and development of science-based, smokeless alternatives that represent a better choice compared to continuing to smoke cigarettes, looks like. Vlačić pointed out the opportunities but also the challenges that the company faced from the announcement that it wants to build a world without tobacco smoke, to the presentation of IQOS, a device based on the technology of heating and not burning tobacco, which is used by about 20,8 million adult smokers in the world today. and is available in 84 markets worldwide.

On behalf of the Government of Montenegro, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Ms. Bojana Bošković, addressed the gathering, who emphasized in her speech that Game Changer is dedicated to the promotion of innovations and the recognition of exceptional talents from Montenegro. She pointed out that the festival was not just an event - it was a movement, a vision and a strength that united us in a common goal: building the largest technological event in the Mediterranean. Additionally, the goal of the festival was to create a platform that will allow our innovators to shine, not only in the region, but also around the world.

The President of the Municipality of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, also addressed the guests, who emphasized the importance of the Game Changer festival for the city of Tivat and expressed the hope that in the years to come, it will become one of the biggest events of its kind in Europe.

Exhibition gaming fesign & animation

The festival was followed by an exhibition of design and animation in the world of video games by the Montenegrin startup phenomenon, the creator of the game Bleak Faith, which attracted over 2.000 citizens and guests during two evenings on the Pine waterfront in Tivat. The visitors were delighted with the creativity and innovations that were presented, and the event left a deep impression on everyone present. This exhibition confirmed the reputation of Montenegro as a growing center for the technological and creative industry.

Three conference days

The conference program attracted over 360 participants during three thematic conference days. More than 40 outstanding leaders from the worlds of technology, academia and business shared trends and insights through panels and presentations. This event not only provided rich content and relevant information, but also provided valuable networking and networking opportunities among professionals. The energy and enthusiasm of the participants was palpable, which further contributed to the success and importance of this extraordinary gathering.
