New and improved portal of the Registry of Beneficial Owners, which allows electronic registration and access to data via the address https://irms.tax.gov.me, is operational as of today, the Tax Administration (TA) announced.

"The technical requirements for registration and access remain unchanged, and all necessary information is available on the portal's home page," the statement said.

The Tax Administration said that a major step forward has been made towards digitalization and transparency, as the portal is the first electronic service developed within the Tax Administration's Integrated Revenue Management System (IRMS), which is being developed through the Tax Administration Reform Project (RARP) in cooperation with the World Bank (WB).

"IRMS is a key software solution for the digitalization and modernization of tax administration, it represents the foundation for more efficient revenue management, improved service for taxpayers and stronger institutional support for the entire tax system," the statement added.

The new portal is the first step in achieving these goals, through a modern, secure and functional electronic service with an improved user experience.

The Public Administration invited all users to familiarize themselves with the portal's functionalities and register in accordance with applicable regulations.

As announced by its representatives, the Tax Administration will, from the beginning of next year, completely switch to the new Integrated Revenue Management System, which will replace all previous, outdated information systems and make it as easy as possible to fulfill obligations and raise the level of voluntary tax compliance.
