An American mayor has been accused of hypocrisy for taking a private plane on vacation while urging people to stay at home to protect themselves from the coronavirus.
Steve Adler, the head of Austin, Texas, went on vacation with his family to Mexico.
He filmed a video at a beach resort telling Austin residents, "Now is not the time to relax."
Adler, from the ranks of the Democratic Party, denies that he violated the regulations.

What did the mayor do??
"There is no recommendation that people not travel during this period," Adler told a local paper that revealed his trip.
"One can say, 'He traveled.' But they can't say I told others not to travel while I was on the road."
The same newspaper reported that Adler organized an outdoor reception after his daughter's wedding last month, which was attended by 20 people.
The mayor admitted that the guests "probably did not" wear the masks they were given all the time.
The next day, the mayor and seven wedding guests boarded a private jet and went to the resort of Cabo San Lucas, where they spent a week.
One evening, Adler recorded a video for Facebook in which he addressed Austinites, but did not let it be known that he was out of town.
"We should stay at home, if you can," he said.
"Now is not the time to relax. We will monitor the situation carefully. We may have to impose a lockdown if we're not careful."
In the previous weeks, the American media accused several officials from the ranks of the Democratic Party of double standards in the matter of protection against the corona virus.
Among them is California Governor Gavin Newsom, who held a meeting with lobbyists and members of the California Health Association at an expensive restaurant, none of whom were wearing masks.
At the same restaurant, San Francisco Mayor London Bridge attended a birthday party the next day.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi was photographed in a hair salon without a mask, at a time when indoor services were not allowed.
Politicians from the ranks of Democrats are generally more favorable to the introduction of protection measures than their Republican counterparts.
America records almost 14 million cases of infection with the corona virus, and more than 273.000 Americans have so far died as a result of Covid-19.
