When a grieving family saw an unknown person at a funeral in a chapel in the north of France, they didn't think much of it.
The woman, in her sixties, said she was a friend of the deceased, so they let her pay her respects to the deceased in the open casket - or so they thought.
When they returned, they saw that the jewelry had been removed from the body of the deceased - the necklace, ring and earrings were missing, according to French media.
The family called the police, who conducted an investigation and soon identified the suspect - a woman who lives not far from the chapel.

They took her into custody and found her missing jewelry.
But that was not all.
They soon connected the suspect to the theft of a wallet from a man's body in the same chapel that day, Tuesday, August 24.
During the search of the suspect's house, the police also found a stack of recently published death certificates.
The notices also included access codes for family members to enter the individual rooms where the coffins were located.
The woman will appear in court in 2022.
