A man from China was executed after murdering his ex-wife, who he set on fire during her live performance on the Internet.
His wife, known by the nickname Lamu, was a celebrity on the social network Doujin, China's version of TikTok.
Hundreds of thousands of her followers watched videos about her life in the mountains of Sichuan province.
The case of her murder has put the issue of violence against women in China into the spotlight.
One study shows that a quarter of them have experienced domestic violence.

What happened?
Lamu, a mother of two, first went to the police about the violent behavior of Tang Lu, her husband, but was told there it was a "family matter".
In June 2020, she divorced her husband.
Three months later, he doused her in gasoline at her father's house and set her on fire.
She suffered burns on 90% of her body and died two weeks later.
The case sparked outrage across the country and fueled debate about violence against women.
Thousands of her followers left her messages on social networks, whose users called for justice, using hashtags that were later censored.
When Tang Lu was sentenced to death, the court found that his crime was "extremely cruel" and that the "social impact was very bad".
Lamu had already accused her ex-husband of violence, the verdict stated.
The crime took place in a remote rural area in southwest Sichuan province, home to a large number of ethnic Tibetans.
China and domestic violence
China criminalized domestic violence in 2016, but it remains widespread, especially in rural areas.
Activists also fear that the recently introduced mandatory "cooling off" period of 30 days for couples who want to divorce could make it more difficult for women to leave abusers.
