When is a man old? At 85 years old? 90? And what about 141 years?

It may sound impossible, but people in the future could live much longer than before, according to a study by American scientists.

It is possible for men to live to be 141 years old, and for women to live longer than 130, says Dr. David McCarthy, assistant professor at the University of Georgia in the United States.

Until now, scientists believed that the longest human lifespan was a little more than 120 years.

Although people would be happy to live to be a hundred years old, officially the oldest person lived for 122 years.

The Frenchwoman Jeanne Louise Calm lived a long time thanks to the absence of stress.

"If you can't influence something, don't get upset," she told reporters.

She loved sweets which she ate until she was 119 years old.
