"Friends" co-creator Martha Coffman says Matthew Perry seemed happy and cheerful when she spoke with him two weeks ago.
Perry, who played the role of Chandler in the series, he died on saturday, at the age of 54.
Kofman is for NBC advertising that their last conversation went "excellent".
"He didn't seem to be bothered by anything, and it seems very unfair that he's gone," she said.

Perry was found dead in the hot tub at his home in Los Angeles.
The autopsy has not yet been completed, the results of toxicology tests are awaited.
In a joint statement released Monday, Perry's five co-stars said they were "all absolutely devastated" by the actor's death.
"We were more than colleagues. We were family," they said.
Other friends and colleagues, from Salma Hayek and Gwyneth Paltrow to Hank Azaria and Kathleen Turner, paid tribute to the late actor.
Azaria said Perry was like a "brother" and helped him quit drinking.
Fans leave flowers and messages in front of the building in New York, where the series was filmed.
Perry struggled with alcohol and drug addiction for most of his life.
In his memoirs, which he published last year, he stated that he estimated that:
- spent seven, millions of dollars trying to cure himself
- attended 6.000 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings
- Been to rehabilitation 15 times
The Los Angeles Fire Department announced some details about the circumstances of Perry's death.
"The adult patient died before first aid was given to him.
"The patient was found by a passer-by, who moved the victim so that his head was out of the water.
"Firefighters removed the victim from [the hot tub] and performed a rapid medical evaluation, when he was pronounced deceased," it said.
