The rangers of the American Yellowstone National Park accused Pierce Brosnan, the actor known for his role as the secret agent James Bond, of moving in a closed part of this nature reserve.
Brosnan was accused of going off-trail near a series of hot springs in the oldest national park.
He was ordered to appear in court in Wyoming on January 27, 2024.
In the hot spring complex there are geysers, steam springs and pools with hot mud.
More than 20 people died after falling into one of these springs.

The Irish actor, who played James Bond from 1995 to 2002, illegally approached the sources on November 1, according to the indictment, which was seen by BBC News.
He allegedly left the footpath to enter an ecologically sensitive part of the park.
Brosnan has not yet commented on the allegations.
Deviating from the footpath can be dangerous as the ground is unstable and can easily slide into pools of hot, acid-filled water, it said. on the park's official website.
A Michigan man was burned in August 2023 by driving out of a designated area.
Two years before that, a 20-year-old woman was injured trying to save a dog from one of the springs.
A 2-year-old man died in the park's largest geyser after straying from the hiking trail.
Rescuers gave up trying to retrieve the body, which had completely decomposed.
Brosnan was in the area during filming Unholy Trinity.
The western, which also stars Samuel LeRoy Jackson, was made despite strikes by writers and actors, after they reached an internal agreement with the American actors' union Sag-After.
