A Swiss court sentenced members of Britain's richest family to four and four and a half years in prison.
The married couple Prakash and Kamal Hinduja (70), their son Ajay and his wife Namrata were found guilty of exploitation of workers and illegal employment.
They were acquitted of more serious charges of human trafficking.

The workers, brought from India, claimed that the family paid them a little less than ten euros for 18 hours of work, which is ten times less than the amount prescribed by Swiss law.
They also complained that the family, whose wealth is estimated at around 44 billion euros, rarely allowed them to leave the house in the wealthy district of Kololja, in the Swiss city of Geneva.
Prosecutors claimed during the trial that the family spent more on the dog than on their own workers.

The elderly couple did not attend the trial, allegedly due to illness.
Adjaye and Namarta did, but did not stay during the sentencing.
Their lawyer says they will appeal.
The Geneva prosecutor requested that they be detained immediately.
It is not the first time that Geneva, the seat of international organizations and the world's rich, is at the center of a scandal of alleged mistreatment of servants.
In 2023, four maids from the Philippines sued one of Geneva's diplomatic missions to the United Nations, claiming that they had not been paid for years.
The Hindudza family owns the Hindudza Group, a multinational conglomerate that is present in the oil industry and banking, and also owns the Raffles Hotel in London.
