Two men were found dead in a remote forest while searching for a Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot, according to authorities in Washington state.
Two men from Portland, Oregon, were found dead after a three-day search that began on Christmas Day after a family member of one of the victims reported they had not returned from a trip to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
They were looking for evidence of a monkey-like bipedal mythical hairy creature living in the forest.
More than 60 volunteers participated in the search, using aircraft and dogs to search the wooded terrain and brutally cold weather conditions, the Skameinia County Sheriff's Office said.
"Both deaths appear to be the result of exposure, based on weather conditions and poor preparation," the statement said.

The sheriff's office found a car belonging to the victims near the town of Willard, according to the statement, in order to intensify the search in that area.
Drones were also used, and a Coast Guard helicopter team arrived to help.
Officials did not release the names of the two victims, ages 37 and 59.
In the Cascade Mountains, days before and during the search, it was extremely cold, with weather conditions including snow, freezing rain and sub-zero temperatures.
Rescuers also had to contend with high water levels in rivers and fallen trees.
Hundreds of people have reported seeing Sasquatch in the Pacific Northwest of the United States and western Canada.
Along with the Loch Ness monster, this creature is one of the most famous cryptids in the world - animals whose existence is disputed or not scientifically proven.
There have been so many reported Sasquatch sightings that some communities have taken measures to "protect" this hairy mythical creature.
In the Skamejnija district, where the couple disappeared, one can get a year in prison or a fine of 1.000 dollars if someone "hurts" this mythical creature.
