A woman in Japan has been arrested for allegedly crushing a bun in a store and leaving without paying.
Authorities in the southern city of Fukuoka confirmed to the BBC that a 40-year-old woman had been arrested for "damage" and is being held criminally liable.
The woman, who said she was unemployed, claimed she was "just checking the firmness by lightly pressing her hand," according to police.
The woman allegedly touched a bag containing four black sesame and cream cheese buns.
While the wrapper was intact, police said one bun was damaged after being pressed with her right thumb, making the entire package unsellable.

The owner of a store in Lawson claims he has seen a woman crushing buns before, police said.
As she was leaving the store on Monday, the owner noticed the bun was damaged and called her to pay, according to police.
A package of buns costs a little over 1,2 euros.
She allegedly refused.
The salesman followed her and stopped her.
The police were called and arrested her.
In recent years, the police have also been cracking down on those who committed "drought terrorism" in restaurants where this delicacy is served on conveyor belts.
They were caught licking soy sauce bottles and crushing sushi intended for guests.
