Charges against actor Nicolas Cage have been dropped from a civil lawsuit recently filed by his ex-partner over the alleged assault of their son.

Christina Fulton sued 34-year-old Weston Cage last month for assault and battery and accused Cage of negligence, claiming the famous actor failed to prevent his son's alleged behavior.

However, the allegations against the Oscar winner have now been removed from the lawsuit, according to US media.

In February, when the lawsuit was filed, the actor's lawyers characterized it as "frivolous."

"Cage does not control Weston's behavior in any way and is not responsible for Weston's alleged assault on his mother," they said.

Weston Cage's lawyer said at the time that the case was not surprising given Christina Fulton's history of litigation against family members, and appeared to be "nothing more than a money grab and attention grab."

This process is still ongoing.

Christina Fulton accused Weston Cage of attacking her for no reason in a fit of "manic rage" in April 2024.

She claims she suffered a concussion, neck and throat injuries, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Weston Cage was arrested last June and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

He pleaded not guilty to all counts of the indictment.

Christina Fulton, 57, said Nicolas Cage was aware of their son's "long history of mental and psychological disorders" and previous alleged acts of "violent assault and bodily harm."

She claims that his father enabled him to behave this way by providing him with financial support.
