The drama in the Beckham family has culminated.
The eldest child of former soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria, a former singer turned fashion designer, released a statement on Instagram in which he spoke openly about disagreements - to put it mildly - with his parents.
In a series of posts on Instagram, Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham accused his parents of "attacking" him and his wife in the press, claiming they "endlessly tried to destroy" his relationship with Nicole.
"I don't want reconciliation with the family," Brooklyn said about months of speculation about the Beckhams' feud.
Brooklyn wrote that he had tried to keep the entire situation from the public, but that he "had no choice but to say what he had and publish the truth."
The BBC has contacted representatives for David and Victoria Beckham for comment.
The two have never acknowledged the family rift.
"I've been quiet for years and I've tried to keep these things a secret," Brooklyn, 26, wrote in a series of posts on Instagram, where he has 16 million followers.
"Unfortunately, my parents and their team continued to release the stories to the press, leaving me with no choice but to now tell the truth about some of the lies that were published."
"I don't want to reconcile with my family. They don't control me, they can't control my life, and now for the first time I'm standing up for myself."
"I recently witnessed for myself how far they are willing to go to spread countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, in order to preserve the false image and facade of their family relationships."
"But I believe the truth always comes out."
In most of the post, he wrote about his parents' relationship with his current wife - an American actress and daughter of billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz.
"My family never respected her, no matter how hard we tried to be one," Brooklyn wrote.
He accused his parents of trying to obstruct their wedding, claiming that his mother, a fashion designer, "canceled the making of Nikola's dress at the last minute, despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress."
At the time, reports emerged that Nicole, now 31, had refused to wear one of Victoria Beckham's dresses.
She later told The Times that her mother-in-law realized that her studio allegedly couldn't finish the dress on time, denying speculation that there had been an argument.
Brooklyn also accused his mother of stealing his and Nicole's first wedding dance.
"When (singer) Marc Anthony invited me to come on stage, instead of my wife, my mother was there and she danced very inappropriately with me, in front of everyone."
"I've never felt more uncomfortable in my life than I did then," Brooklyn admitted.
He said he and Nicole renewed their vows in 2025 to create new memories "that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and shame."
There were problems and attempts to undermine the wedding even before the wedding, claims young Beckham.
"In the weeks leading up to the wedding, my parents repeatedly pressured me and tried to bribe me into signing a waiver of my last name," he wrote.
It was unclear from the announcement which rights he was referring to.
He said he didn't do it, which "impacted payday and they've never treated me the same since."
In the post, he revealed another detail that fueled speculation about a family rift: in May, he and Nicole were not at David Beckham's 50th birthday party.
Brooklyn said he and his wife came to London for his father's birthday but were told they weren't coming "after a week of waiting in a hotel room, trying to plan quality time with him."
“(The father) avoided all our attempts to see each other, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras on every corner,” the influencer wrote.
He said his father "finally agreed" to meet with him, but on the condition that his wife not be present, which he called "a slap in the face."
At the time, a source told the BBC that 26-year-old Brooklyn decided not to go to the party because his younger brother Romeo was there with a girl he (Brooklyn) was previously in a relationship with.
Brooklyn also accused his mother of "repeatedly inviting women from my past into our lives with the obvious goal of making Nicole and I uncomfortable."
The eldest son also wrote about his parents that "above all else, they love public promotion, popularity, and support."
"They put the Beckham brand first," he wrote, adding that "family 'love' is determined by how much you post on social media."
"My parents controlled me for most of my life. I grew up with tremendous anxiety."
"For the first time in my life, since I moved away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared."
He also revealed that his younger brothers "were tasked with attacking me on social media before, out of nowhere, they blocked me last summer."
In addition to Brooklyn, former England national football team captain David and former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham have two other sons and a daughter - Romeo (23), Cruz and Harper Seven (14).
