British singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham has achieved unexpected success - her song has reached number one on iTunes for the first time (iTunes), a quarter of a century after it was created.
The song "Not Such an Innocent Girl" (Not So Innocent or Naive Girl), released as the first single from her eponymous debut solo album in 2001, reached the #1 on iTunes in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland January 22.
So far, the song's best placement was 6th place.
This unexpected success came after a family feud between the Beckhams, more precisely announcements of her eldest child Brooklyn, who accused his parents of controlling his life and doing everything they could to obstruct his marriage to By Nikola Pelc, they write Media.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Brooklyn also claimed that his 51-year-old mother "hijacked" his and his wife's first wedding dance and danced with him "so inappropriately that he's never been more embarrassed in his life."
Social media is flooded with memes of Victoria Beckham striking various poses as she dances at the wedding of Brooklyn (26) and Nicole Peltz (31).
Victoria Beckham, one of the members of the former pop group Spice Girls (spice girls), has never had a single top any music chart.
Unlike her, the other members of the group succeeded in doing so - Geri Halliwell and Melanie S each had multiple number-one singles, while Mel B had two and Emma Bunton had one.
Victoria and David Beckham's second son, 20-year-old Cruz, has apparently contributed to the popularity of the song "Not Such an Innocent Girl" posting it on his Instagram profile.
He posted the poem alongside a photo of a can of a Brazilian soft drink made from guarana.
In addition to Brooklyn and Chris, Victoria and David Beckham also have a son, Romeo (23), and a daughter, Harper (14).
"I kept quiet for years and did everything I could to keep these things private."
"Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to bring things up in the media, leaving me with no choice but to come forward like this and tell the truth about just some of the lies that have been published," Brooklyn wrote on Instagram on January 19.
"I don't want to reconcile with my family. They don't control me anymore and for the first time in my life I'm standing up for myself," he added.
He accused his parents of trying to "destroy" his relationship with Nikola (31) even before their wedding in 2022.
He wrote about his mother, who canceled the making of Nikola's wedding dress at the last minute and "danced inappropriately" with him during what was supposed to be his first dance with his wife.
He also claimed that family members told him the night before the wedding that Nikola was "not blood" and "not family."
David and Victoria Beckham have not yet commented on their eldest child's claims.
