On Sunday, November 11, the final program of the manifestation "About Circles and People" was held at the now famous circles of the Bar Gymnasium. As I approached the circles, I felt the same trepidation as 44 years ago when I first stepped into the Gymnasium building. Once from professors, now from young people who filled that amphitheater under the open sky. I was thinking whether, as one of the oldest students of the Gymnasium who happened to be there, I should say Les's poem "Potonja ura Rada Tomova":
"Desires - a brooding youth on a birth plate:
everything else be regretted,
if only the eyes remained,
staring at the world and people.
The last blink of vision fills thoughts:
every death is the ruin of the world.”
And I point out, somewhat pathetically, but appropriately: "Every death of a high school cypress tree is one downfall of the Bar!"
But, as time went on, as the speakers, young, loud and smart, lined up, I realized that it was not mine to disrupt in any way their pure and noble struggle to save the Gymnasium courtyard. Their youth simply cannot lose that battle. Especially if it is known that the construction of a kindergarten (which, by the way, is necessary for the Bar) in the courtyard of the Gymnasium, as the representative of the Civic Initiative, lawyer Aleksandra Leković, nicely explained to the councilors of SO Bar, is illegal, inhumane to children and unfair to nature.

And when I found out the results of the vote on the Citizen's Initiative not to build a kindergarten in the courtyard of the Gymnasium, I first thought about what the late Andrija Miranović, the most famous professor of this school, Slobodan Topalović, one of the best professors, and Rajko Nikezić, the best student in it, would say. history, according to my father Pavle, who taught history. And also: would everything have been different if the three of them could have been in the SO Bar hall during the voting?
It wouldn't, unfortunately.
That realization made me uneasy.
It's incredible how parties dehumanize people. Even if it is a question of rigid, undemocratic parties, and in our country they are such in the majority, then human collapse is complete.

The citizens' initiative should grow into a non-governmental organization led by young people and which will continue to impartially, apolitically and responsibly monitor everything that this government (and others that come after it) intends to do "for the benefit" of Bar and Baran.

Only these days, on the occasion of the Gymnasium, it became clear to me why Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, among others, was expelled from the reading room. Do you imagine that children come across his line "Wherever you find a good place, plant a tree there, and the tree is fruitful, so it will reward you"?
Who will explain to them that a similar slogan reigns in Montenegro, only in the Jekavian variant, with the fact that instead of a tree, the main role is a building.

The Norwegian research ship "Polar Empress" will start seismic recording of the Ulcinj seabed in a few days due to the possible exploitation of oil and gas.
Many fishermen and citizens fear that the zone of 1.200 square kilometers covered by the research will be permanently destroyed due to the use of sound-air cannons, as well as that tourism in the Montenegrin part of the Adriatic will be devastated, because they point out that there is no example of a successful coexistence of tourism and oil platforms anywhere. . They were also disturbed by the information that the research will significantly increase the risk of earthquakes.
On the other hand, Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulović says that he was convinced of the sophistication of the equipment on the Norwegian ship and "their determination that this research does not leave any consequences for the living world in Montenegro".
The NGO "SOS for Montenegro" organized a protest march from Ulcinj to Herceg Novi to point out the possible consequences of seismic recording, but it is obvious that it is high time for a serious TV debate on this topic.

I read another excellent book by Miljenko Jergović, "An Unearthly Expression of His Hands", about the Sarajevo assassination. Jergović also writes about this event as he speaks and writes about everything - interestingly and honestly. In one place, he quotes the famous Zagreb architect Drago Ibler: "You should live the life of your age." You should create in the spirit of your time."
And Njegos only lived and created in the spirit of his time. And he created a timeless literary work that has been interpreted by both intelligent and less intelligent people for more than 170 years. And there's no way they can completely interpret it, it's so genius.
And the Podgorica assembly was in the spirit of its time and should not be interpreted by those who live in the spirit of their time, which is so different from the one a century ago.
