The Croatian intelligentsia has never put things that way, but it is worth considering: is it possible that this whole thing with the Islamic State, Caliph Baghdadi, the destruction of pre-Mohammedan monuments and the Sharia terror against infidels and disobedient Muslims, and the ritual executions of Westerners - including the horrible liquidation Croat Tomislav Salopek - actually just the work of a handful of beardless imbeciles in black, and a miserable attempt to exaggerate their importance to divert the public's attention from the real, real problems of Syrian society - the catastrophic economic situation and the collapse of the Syrian economy under the sanctions of the United Nations and the European Union, which is why even two thirds of Syrians live below the poverty line?
It never occurred to the homeland intelligentsia that the hatred in the eyes of the Caliph's butchers - and their eyes and the hatred in them is the only thing we have ever seen from them - is just a barbell for their eyes, which diverts their eyes from the corrupt Syrian economy, the firm state control of oil resources and the collapse of Syrian agriculture, once the world's tenth largest exporter of cotton and fourth largest producer of olive oil.
Authentic Croatian hatred
It didn't occur to her even when, a year ago, she first heard about the idiot who declared himself the supreme caliph of all Muslims in the world and announced a plan for the first five-year plan, with the conquest of Spain, Austria and Croatia. Even then, interestingly, no one in Croatia, terrified of the rising Islamic danger, thought that maybe it was just another political rediculous, no one and nothing that should worry us, at least not more than, as far as I know, fifty percent of the unemployed in Syria .
How then, that's what I wanted to ask, does the Croatian intelligentsia - so deeply shocked by the incomprehensible, swelling hatred of Islamist fanatics, that it does not see the Syrian economic crisis as a result - sleep so peacefully watching the incomprehensible, swelling hatred in their own society? How does that, authentic Croatian hatred - when it is not two thousand kilometers away, does not have the black flag of the Islamic State and does not shout "Allah uekhber!", but under the window, with the Croatian flag in hand, shouts "Ready for home!" - suddenly is no longer something what should we worry about, at least not more than, what do I know, three hundred thousand unemployed? How is this hysterical, dark, dark and mass hatred suddenly just the expression of a handful of beardless imbeciles in black and a miserable attempt by the Croatian media to exaggerate their importance?
How is it, finally, that the incomprehensible, irrational hatred that condemned Tomislav Salopek to death and kidnapped him while he was going to work in distant Cairo, is not in fact just a case of a handful of extremists, exaggerated to cover up the catastrophic economic situation in Croatia, where do the people come from? , have to go to work in Egypt? At what point, namely, does hatred cease to be a marginal anthropological-sociological phenomenon and becomes, as it were, "worrying"? When exactly did the hatred of Islamist blackshirts stop being funny Levantine folklore to cover up the economic crisis and become a threat to our bare lives? Did their hatred become our problem at the moment when Tomislav Salopek was kidnapped, or last year, when Croatian son-in-law David Haines was killed on camera? Did it stop being a folklore phenomenon when a year ago the map of the Caliphate up to the Karlobag-Karlovac-Vienna line was published, or when two years ago unemployment in Syria reached fifty and inflation reached two hundred percent?
Caliph Glavaš next to Hitler
It's important to know that, because Croatian folklore hatred is two thousand kilometers closer to us than Arab hatred. Croatian citizen Tomislav Salopek was killed by this terrible, deep hatred while he was going to work in Cairo, while hundreds of thousands of Croatian citizens go to work every morning in Croatia. It was a long time ago when Croatian hatred killed a Croatian citizen for the first time, and yet it is still - our intelligentsia repeats its favorite mantra - a subcultural pop-phenomenon that serves only to keep us from thinking about the economy.
Croatian citizen Branko L., for example, was also going to work when he was kidnapped and brutally liquidated, only he was not kidnapped by Islamist black shirts: it was long before the Islamic State, and much closer than it - twenty-four years ago, in Osijek, where, after the kidnapping and brutal torture, he was liquidated by the fighters of Osijek's caliph Branimir Glavaš.
Somehow, right at the time when Tomislav Salopek was kidnapped in Cairo, Branko's fate was recalled by his wife Marija, in a conversation with war victims organized by the quartermaster Oliver Frljić, the Serbian National Council and Documenta activists at the Croatian National Theater in Rijeka. This time, however, there was no empathy and sadness, and the volcanic rage of the foaming black-shirted men with swollen jugular veins and blinded by hatred, who roared in front of the Rijeka HNK building, threatened retribution and beat a journalist, even iconographically uncomfortably reminded of anger and the hatred of the jihadists of the Islamic State. Only that instead of the flag of the Caliphate, they waved the flags of the Republic of Croatia.
In those days, Caliph Glavaš himself published a photo of him relaxed, smiling and free posing on his terrace, with a couple of bottles of wine with the image of Reichsführer Adolf Hitler, so it didn't cause any reaction at all: the same relaxed, smiling and free hatred before twenty-four years ago, she ordered the kidnapping of the Croatian citizen Branko L., the same volcanic, foaming hatred that we saw in front of Rijeka's HNK tormented and liquidated him back then, and yet today that hatred is just folklore that the media exaggerates so that we don't talk about unemployment due to which Croats today go to Germany or, well, Egypt.
Ustasha orgy in Knin
While she was so stunned, but from a safe distance, trying to fathom the distant and incomprehensible hatred that killed Tomislav Salopek, Croatia was suffocating in its own. While Glavaš toasted his Führer, and the black-shirted people went wild in front of Rijeka's HNK, the state celebration of the anniversary of the Storm in Knin, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic herself, turned into an Ustasha orgy, Serbian tourists' cars were destroyed, Croatia chanted "Za dom spremni!" ", "Kill the Serb" and "Here's the dawn, here's the day - "here's Jura and Boban", Vukovar Deputy Mayor Marijan Pavliček and President of the City Council Igor Gavrić sing on YouTube - volcanic, primordial hatred flooded schools and city streets, stadiums and weddings halls, newspapers and internet forums, politics and culture, and yet the whole thing turns out to be just a review of folklore, the work of a handful of beardless imbeciles in black and a miserable attempt to exaggerate their importance to divert the public's attention from the true, real problems of Croatian society - the catastrophic economic the policies of the Croatian Government and the collapse of the Croatian economy.
The unemployment of Croatian citizens, you have understood, is of greatest concern to those who would abduct them on their way to work.
