Why the opposition is losing

The opposition can get serious, it can find millions of euros for election preparation and campaigning, it can gather all the best people that Montenegro has - in vain. In fact, it's not for nothing. That alone will not be enough as long as the opposition goes to the elections organized and prepared by the DPS

Is the Montenegrin opposition not mature enough to replace such a powerful government? Obviously! And is that one of the most difficult tasks facing any political group in Europe today? It is!

Is it more difficult to win the elections, which they call democratic - Putin or Đukanović?! The answer is: a draw! In fact, Đukanović is a tougher nut to crack because he rules for longer and a much smaller country, which is then much easier to control.

But, to return to the opposition: every government would like an opposition leader like our Med. So much support from the voters when he appeared, from the civil sector, from the independent media - for such a modest result! After ten years, PzP does not exist as a serious party, instead of a networked party infrastructure we have a one-man show. And two of his assistants. It would be superfluous to explain whether something in that conception should be changed.

It's time for Andrija Mandić to think about changes. After all the Serbian defeats we have witnessed in the last two and a half decades, can the leader of Nova continue to build politics on stereotypes and prejudices. If you want, even delusions. Because of the torture and humiliation they suffered in Đukanović's private state, the Serbs in Montenegro, more than any other ethnic group, wish for a democratic change of government. And for that goal, they are ready to feel everything. And they accept. And the recognition of Kosovo, and the country's membership in NATO, and the criticism of Amfilohi, and that they recognize the gravity of Milosevic's crimes in Bosnia... Why, then, doesn't Mandic take advantage of such an opportunity?!

It is time for Miodrag Lekić to do something so that he does not reduce his great authority and charisma to the level of an average and unsuccessful opposition champion in Montenegro. His activity on the internal and international level should be much more energetic and intense. And attitudes and positions are much more pragmatic than intellectual. That is politics, after all.

Is there time for Darko Pajović?! I'm not sure. He managed to spend his large capital in a faster time frame than Medojević used to. And the people who supported him at the start, and the voters who so selflessly rewarded him in the first elections, and the civil sector from which he grew and which was blowing his back all the time, were the capital. He showed insecurity, weakness, immaturity - such flaws had to result in such a fiasco in such a difficult and unequal fight as the fight to remove a dictator.

Should we mention the SNP?! Or just repeat the folk one: all the best to the deceased! There are fewer and fewer people who clearly recognize whether the once powerful and strongest opposition party is following Damjanović's path to the DPS copulation or the path of Kaluđerović, who does not surrender to Mugoša's gifts. Milić oscillates between these poles, celebrating victories over the opposition and waiting for the DPS to install a favorite opposition member at the head of the party.

It seems to Krivokapić and the SDP that their time is yet to come?! Because they don't see that the dictatorship is eating everything in front of it that has signs of European and anti-monopoly at a metro speed. While the SDP waits for the processes to do their work, Đukanović's octopus will suck up everything that moves. Every voice of resistance. Parties, NGOs, media, individual critics. The SDP therefore has only one choice - whether it will participate as a follower and subject of its decades-long partner in that final victory of Montenegro, or whether it will stand at the head of the resistance movement. This expression is not accidental. Because this kind of regime is perhaps the most perfect machine for grinding society and winning electoral victories after Germany in 1933 and what happened there with the emergence of the National Socialist Party. And they came to power "democratically", in the elections, there was a suspicion that they had stolen something, so that they would rule unchallenged until the Allied tanks entered Berlin.

Even that comparison is not adequate. Đukanović is in the lead. The foreign factor will never interfere here, because such a small country can never cause a regional problem that would bring the government under such an attack from the allies. Milo is smart. On the other hand, in a society with such a perverted value system, it is impossible to expect an internal rebellion and the overthrow of a dictator on the street. It usually goes with this first, external factor. There is no chance for either. Đukanović ensured that things were arranged in this way. All the best. Gaddafi, Mubarak, Saddam - they are all small children for him.

That is why political struggle remains the only choice. And that is why it is important for SDP to recognize the times and the needs of this time. If they become entangled in personal and party calculations, then they will bow their heads and kneel under the threat of the DPS, which through the mouth of Commissioner Vešović orders them to return to the leader's mantle.

Not to forget DPS at the end. The international community and a part of the domestic community hoped that changes could be brought about, first and most quickly, by changes or a coup within the DPS. The attempt with Lukšić showed that it is pure illusion. They are all Đukanović's hostages. Just look at the creator of all the election victories of Marović - his brother was arrested, it's possible that he will be again, but he works 24 hours a day for the leader because that's the only way he has even a small chance to save his brother's freedom. Or, how Duško Marković was just looking forward to the victory in Mojkovac! With that victory, in fact, he saved himself, not only his position in the government, but perhaps also his life. Rejected by the leader, he would be an easy target for his many enemies, his friends say. It will be the same in Podgorica. If Đukanović saddled Mugoša for that race - imagine what that unfortunate man will do to save Spuža. Veljović used to say when he was chief of police that Mugoš's file was as thick as the "Great National Chef". Or, if Mugoša is scrapped - once again Đukanović, as the top director of this tragicomic play of ours, will pull one of his guinea pigs out of his sleeve, who will once again, for life and death, plow around Podgorica and the surrounding area to make Vođa happy with another great victory. It is a system in which there is no uncertainty. Not about the winners, not about the losers.

The opposition can get serious, it can find millions of euros for election preparation and campaigning, it can gather all the best people that Montenegro has - in vain. In fact, it's not for nothing. That alone will not be enough as long as the opposition goes to the elections organized and prepared by the DPS. The only way to remove the dictator and win freedom for Montenegro is the reorganization and coordinated action of the opposition, on the one hand, and the preparation of the first free and fair elections, on the other. Elections where the entire, or at least most part of, the instruments used by the regime to falsify the will of the voters would be eliminated. Which it then presents as its most democratic expression. Cynicism is the main distinguishing feature between democratic and autocratic societies.
