Step by step, moral failure and hypocrisy became established "values" of Montenegrin society. Montenegro likes to present itself as a country where everyone is equal, of course until the moment comes to show it in practice. Without a hint of irony, it also presents itself as a country where there were no war events during the nineties. The question arises, especially important for Bosniaks in Montenegro, why touch things from the past at all. Why not turn a blind eye and allow Montenegro to form a revisionist narrative to alienate itself from Greater Serbian fascism, much like Austria modeled itself as the first victim of Nazism shortly after World War II, which later helped it build a strong anti-fascist foundation? Why don't we allow Montenegro to play the same role, all with the aim of possibly really identifying with anti-fascist values, similar to how an actor identifies with a role that previously had nothing to do with him?
It would be a reasonable plan if there weren't several strong obstacles that destroy it, and they are especially visible from the Bosniak perspective. Unlike Austria, Montenegro has left a series of stains that it neither wants nor has the intention to clean up, and which, by the nature of things, hinder it in building a real anti-fascist image.
The reasons are numerous: in the so-called "non-war" Montenegro, Bukovica of Pljeval took place. Under the patronage of the ruling DPS and the high police structures of the time, in the classic sense of the word, an entire area was ethnically cleansed where their ancestors and today's Bosniaks have lived since ancient times. The real perpetrators of the crime were never brought to justice, and only those who were direct participants were tried. The Montenegrin, and actually the DPS judiciary, executing orders received from persons from the highest state and political level, from persons who should have been on the dock before anyone else, did not even blink when it announced the acquittals. Therefore, even if there was a crime without any doubt, there will be no convicted criminals in Montenegro until the Montenegrin criminal justice comes out of the aegis of several SDP-DPS "icons", who rule the captive consciousness of the impoverished population of this country.
There was also a kidnapping of a passenger from the train from Štrpci station. About thirty criminals participated in the crime, but only one, a third-rate actor, was tried. The Montenegrin judiciary put an end to that case as if it had been resolved, that is, as if it had not even happened. Instead of searching for the other perpetrators, the current government wiped Pobrežje, once an old Muslim cemetery, off the face of the earth, leaving it without a single original feature that would indicate that the bones of Bosniaks of old and new Podgorica were there. Carried away by the mania of grandiosity, the current prime minister, without a trace of irony or shame, stood in front of the so-called "a memorial to all the victims". And in order to make the insult as big as possible, the sign was deliberately built from easily breakable material, as if it was created for hardened vandals, to whom this act tells: "We are doing this only to get their votes. Feel free to come and demolish. We are still on your side.”
The words written on the memorial allude to the so-called "all the victims", apparently so that the perpetrators of the crime would not be offended. Well, they are also victims, we should think. This puts a sign of equality between the Serbian-Montenegrin war of conquest in Bosnia and Croatia and the resistance offered to such a deadly element. So, Nebojša Ranisavljević is on the same level as one of our Bjelopolje residents who was unsuccessfully dragging himself through the mud trying to escape from Nebojša's dagger?
All this mockery was carried out with political iconography and hired "significant" Bosniaks, who don't mind that their people are becoming more and more depressed, ghettoized and cut off from all streams of society, only if they can profit from it. All this left a devastating impression on the justice-loving people of Montenegro, because the one who destroys cemeteries in order to replace them with symbols of mockery of the people whose cemeteries he destroyed is actually paving and building a path of shame and arrogance that can never be forgotten.
The deportation of innocent Bosniak civilians to death camps remained a shameful stain of DPS rule, organized from the highest party and state leadership, with the aim of secretly, secretly and silently fulfilling the demands of the war criminal Radovan Karadžić. The only man who spoke about the crime today is accused of being the one in charge and responsible. The image of anti-fascism cannot be built if one of the rare Montenegrin "Schindlers" is treated in this way. If anyone is able to help this society create such an image, it is precisely people like him. Instead of naming a street after him, the top government should send him to prison. And as the trend dictates, the real perpetrators will continue to be released.
Another state crime that is no longer talked about is the arrest, torture and conviction, on the basis of a rigged trial, of the leader of the then leading Bosniak political party, the SDA.
I mention this because today's Bosniak party, as a political exponent of Bosniak interests, in the light of continuous betrayal by the ruling group, in the light of false promises laced with fear, must never forget that past.
Only through courage, political wisdom and historical knowledge can the Bosniak party solve the enigma of enigma after these elections: namely, the party is at a historical crossroads, partly because it is indebted to all citizens of Montenegro, who know that without the Bosniak voice this country would not be country. Partly because the Bosniak citizens, who gave it the vote and legitimacy, are watching closely to see if the party will make a historic decision. Will it be like this for another twenty years, or will it be the turn of the people's interests? Will they tie their voters to a ship that is inevitably sinking, or will they become aware of their responsibility towards the democratic forces that seek real change and regime change?
I want to believe that this time the Bosniak party will resist blackmail, false promises, fears, and above all personal interests, and that it will use the blank check it received from the Montenegrin Bosniaks in these elections. This time the decision of the Bosniak Party is not ordinary or current. It is a historic decision that will have the greatest impact on the nation without which it would not be where it is at the moment.
