After the announcement of the unofficial results of the local elections in the Capital City, in Golubovci, a municipality within the Capital City and other municipalities, a precedent occurred - for the first time there was no big celebration in "two boxes" with the already traditional, turbo-folk chanting "Milo, Dear". Prime Minister Marković said that they want to send a message that the whole of Podgorica and Montenegro won the elections and that they will celebrate with dignity. I knew there was a surprise coming.
Just 12 hours later, the very next morning, a surprise gift arrived for all the citizens of Podgorica and all of Montenegro in the form of news about a new big but "dignified" jump in fuel prices. Now, according to the laws of the market, there will be an increase in transportation costs, which will cause price increases for all products, maybe not immediately, while supplies last, but it is inevitable and in the end a new deterioration of the already poor standard of living of citizens.
What awaits us in the near future, as one of the direct consequences of the "concreting" of DPS and its satellites in Podgorica and other cities, is the inevitable reduction of wages in the public sector, as well as pensions, due to the huge level of public debt. If we were to live in a normal, legally regulated state, in addition to additional taxation of luxury, and relief and assistance to the most vulnerable, we should first abolish the privileges of the "elite", those who have millions and pay lower VAT.
But will the Government sooner resort to reducing salaries and pensions or start a showdown with the "elite", additionally tax luxury and abolish privileges for the privileged (and we know who are privileged in the private state called Montenegro)? Remember the mothers with three or more children, when they decided to cancel their allowances, and to the tycoons who owe tens of millions of euros in taxes, whose collection in the total amount would pour into the budget funds sufficient to pay compensation to all mothers for the next 10 years, decided to they also forgive debts - "it's not a race".
The one who caused the crisis and created the problems cannot get the country out of crisis and problems. It is naive to expect that DPS can be transformed and suddenly start acting in the interest of citizens and the state, because they would have to strike at themselves. Maybe there will be some minor changes, under pressure from the outside, and in the coming period they will sacrifice someone else like Svetozar Marović, but this team cannot lead Montenegro on the path of reforms, on the contrary - every move they make is calculated in advance and made solely for the purpose of protecting the pyramid of power. power and looted wealth. DPS and the rule of law, free and independent institutions? Unfeasible. The Marović case confirms this.
On the political level, it is to be expected that the dictator Đukanović, on the wings of a violent victory in the local elections, will soon, probably by the end of the year, and at the latest at the beginning of the next, call early parliamentary elections. With this, he would deliver another blow, additional pressure on the citizens, who are already tired of constant election processes, while on the other hand, in front of the international community - paradoxically, but very likely - he would thus demonstrate his democratic capacity, and also turn out to be a factor of stability and dialogue: " opposition, you asked for extraordinary parliamentary elections, you have extraordinary parliamentary elections".
If things continue like this, those elections will definitely be the last chance we will have to liberate our beloved homeland for a long period of time, because in the event of another "concreting" of the DPS, after all, we would have to come to terms with the fact that we will spend a long time in slavery. Therefore, it is urgently necessary to work on further strengthening the capacities of the opposition, starting today, continue the fight on the ground, intensify international activities, work on developing all models of action in the future period, including the question of participation in those elections itself, how and under what conditions , because we are still far from free.
On the other side, we have decades-long opposition political leaders who, after the debacle in the local elections, instead of resigning after 30 years of defeat, are now again looking for culprits in the opposition ranks and calling for protests. However, this is completely expected from their side, nothing new, so we should not rule out the possibility of organizing some new protests, "according to the old recipe", in sports vocabulary, "when the ideal weather conditions for the game are obtained", of course, primarily with the aim of political revival , like back then. What is perhaps surprising is that in addition to accusations of a bad election result at the expense of colleagues from the opposition, citizens and the American embassy, there is still no usual accusation of Freemasons and the Vatican.
If there were to be such an organization of protests, while the DPS is certainly planning early elections, it would again be just a show for the people, they would feed each other and everyone would be satisfied on the day of the election - the first thing that would probably save a few parliamentary seats for the leaders who have been sitting there for decades and in front of the citizens took credit for causing early elections in the street, others by organizing protests of the former and a new round of divisions.
Serious protests, with serious demands and a clear goal, can only be organized by serious people. And very important - protests can contribute, be a means of democratic pressure, provided they are guided by sincere intentions, Gandhian resistance, without violence, sometimes they can be a trigger, but talk about the street as a vision of the way to change, gusalti about revolutions, in a small system , where everything is live controlled, is ridiculous, we saw that just a few years ago.
The only correct path at this moment is the path of perseverance, the continuation of the uncompromising struggle, which, despite everything, proudly, with wise politics, honesty, togetherness, working day and night to raise the awareness of the nation, sharply and without any calculations, the educated and brave Montenegrin youth is grabbing forward with big steps. as the only healthy force, the guiding star, the only hope for a better tomorrow and a bright future for all citizens and the state of Montenegro.
