That Montenegro is eternal

The government that violated the secular character of Montenegro by openly violating the Constitution was replaced. And this means that in the future, God willing, secular policy of the new government, it will be known exactly what belongs to whom. What is "emperor" and what is "God". We will not need a church state, nor a state church

Viewed philosophically and theologically, the concept of eternity is usually associated with the Lord God, no matter how someone saw or imagined him. Every other concept, including the one that concerns the human soul and its ideals, its loves and desires - suffers from its own limitation and creation, and therefore also from its inherent mortality. That's why we Christians believe that only what is connected to God can be eternal. For this reason, people are baptized and receive Holy Communion, and funeral services are offered to the deceased. Let's get together, get closer to each other, and to God himself. The Holy Liturgy is a repeated Last Supper. All in love - at one table!

In principle, I would always be reluctant to attribute the properties of eternity to some human creation - a country, a family home, a club or national team I support, the street I live on, a favorite beach or inn. Somehow, at first and second glance, it seems idolatrous, pagan.

When it comes to my homeland Montenegro, the land and state where all my ancestors grew up (at least in the last 400-500 years), where I was born, live and, God willing, I will die there - I had a special the problem of accepting her "eternity". Yes exactly. Despite the most wonderful emotions that bind me to the birth lump, I had this problem.

The first reason for these difficulties resides in the deification trend of this state, in an ideological matrix that, really and literally, put the state in a place where it should stand only and only - God. As the last ugly and quarrelsome offshoot of such minds, they are some kind of anti-lithia. Against the church and liturgical procession, and allegedly in the name of the state!

Another, less important, but present reason is the authorship of the lyrics of my country's anthem, which has never been clarified. And those very verses that glorify her eternity, which in themselves sound magnificent, monumental - but for the sake of educating future generations, it is not unimportant who and when wrote those verses to the ancient song. The suspicion that they were written by an associate of the bloodiest Balkan regime in history, an open servant of Hitler's Nazism in its deadliest phase of disintegration – is not without significance.

Third - the slogan "that Montenegro is eternal" has recently been used more and more frequently for the purpose of propaganda of a party policy that advocated the thesis that the eternal state will disappear (!?), if that party does not remain in power. And such a thesis, you will agree, cannot withstand a banal logical check. How can that which is eternal disappear?

However, on the last August morning of this Lord's summer, my eyes became blurred - and in that matter. My Montenegro was followed by an ugly sign of a country (the only one in Europe) that does not know (can't) implement a peaceful change of government in elections. With that, it seemed, as something really ugly and humiliating (and advertised years ago by the state media), that Montenegro could not exist other than as a dictatorship of one government. I felt it was not so. I believed it was different. I knew it had to be the opposite of that. That Montenegro must be like other modern countries. Older and yet more vital (younger and stronger) than any regime that rules it. The democratic change of government that just happened brings many unknowns regarding the future leadership of the state (economic, legal, managerial), but one thing is beyond doubt: no one can or should abolish our state or drown it in another!

The government that violated the secular character of Montenegro by openly violating the Constitution was replaced. Because whoever is looking for a "state church" is an opponent of the secular organization of society. And this means that in the future, God willing, secular policy of the new government, it will be known exactly what belongs to whom. What is "emperor" and what is "God". We will not need a church state, nor a state church.

The government that built politics on divisions was replaced. The government that during the course of 30 years fought against the "Ustasha" (in the early 90s), then against the "communists" (those from Belgrade and those here in Montenegro at the end of the 90s) and now against the "Chetniks" (these days) ... Without her at the head of the state, there is a greater chance that we will leave history to historians, including questions such as what historical characters Josip Broz, Krsto Popović, Pavle Đurišić, Sekula Drljević and phenomena such as the Chetniks were and what they did to each other. partisans, Greens and others...

And so, in one fell swoop, all those negative reasons disappeared...

I don't know about others, but I belong to those Montenegrins, who right now, even stronger and even more, are ready to live here and invest everything they know and have in the progress of this country. Now, may those who disagree, forgive me, my country seems closer to God and eternity itself. Now that Njegošev's bequest, which entrusts Montenegro to the care of the Holy Trinity - the God of Love, is real to me.

God grant that our Montenegro will be an eternal and prosperous, progressive and harmonious, broad and pleasant home for all its citizens!
