December is another in a series, the month that ends the old year and welcomes the new one, with the hope that it will be better in every way. In these December days, there is a campaign for many unwanted-unborn girls, and against selective abortions, for all of them who were not given the opportunity to say goodbye to the old and welcome their new year.

I was born one December night, not as an unwanted child, but as the first child of my parents. The story remains that my father asked the midwife to give me to him through the window of the old hospital, and then he ran for joy because he had a daughter...

I was given life as a gift and was the most beautiful gift for their first New Year together. My brother was born after me, and after ten years I had a sister. All wanted, and I never heard growing up girls were unwanted.

As the old say: "Without a female child there is neither joy nor sorrow in the house". Of course, this is Montenegro and nothing without sons. I got married young, gave birth to my children and had the opportunity to watch and listen to the calvary that many of my peers, then friends, went through during pregnancy. I remember the fears of not giving birth to a girl - one can, no more - so the pain never ends. It's as if they are to blame, and you know who determines the sex of the child. Times are changing, so one can still think a little more and plan for the offspring. Also, we should not ignore the fact that there are still situations in which selective abortion should sometimes be performed, but with such published available medical data, it is neither humane nor humane to the little conceived beings. What is more beautiful and is there more wealth than a healthy born baby? How many women are there who struggle and struggle to realize themselves as mothers, they don't choose the gender of their child. I wish all of them to have offspring and feel the charms of the first smile, the first coo and everything that one life brings...

Both I and all of you who are reading this have heard stories countless times about how sisters hold on and take care and are better for their parents than where their sons are. Honor the exceptions, because there are tares in every grain. Well, I personally gave birth to two sons, without any fanfare or anything excessive about the genders of the children from my husband. We have two grandsons - Filip and Luka, and I also know that I am waiting and will welcome a girl - the desired one one day. For this little girl of mine, I keep dresses in one box that were bought in India, back in 1982, during the voyage on the ocean liner "Admiral Zmajević" and my stay in Bombay, since my husband was a sailor. From time to time I take them out, caress them, imagine a little girl strutting around in them, and I know that someday the one I call will wear them.

Yes, I also lit a candle for all the unwanted ones, and to our great family sorrow, I also light a candle for my older son who is no longer with us. I wished for some light for all those little souls. In that garden where flowers sprout and don't smell, every flower is for the little unwanted... For all future born girls, may happiness accompany them in life and may they be loved. Thanks to my parents that I was wanted.
