Answer to Žarko Rakčević's text "I am against DPS and SPC clientelism", Vijesti, 29.12.2020.
Public dialogue is the essence of a democratic and free society, so I am glad that Žarko Rakčević accepted that challenge and sent his response to my column. Here is my short answer:
1. It's nice, Žarko, to be in the minority, I've been on that side all my life, so it's not a problem that you were also in the minority at GO Ure. That is the quality of Ura because it shows that yours is not like in DPS - everything is unanimous. And instead of bragging about it, you went to my friend Dee Kay to complain! Why?!
2. In that speech, dear Žarko, one sentence and message in particular was disputed, which was the reason why a part of my text was dedicated to you - namely, you said at Dee Kay that you were against something on the Main Board and that "You are NOT WAS THE ONLY ONE”. So you, Žarko, certainly unknowingly, encouraged the DPS junta to continue lynching the champions of your party as alleged traitors, presenting yourself as a patriot, following the model of the aforementioned mercenaries.
3. That's why here's a piece of advice: don't feel uncomfortable or bad when you're in the minority or when you're a "traitor". You should be proud of that and not defend yourself or even be ashamed of it.
4. Now a very friendly remark: in the family or in the company or in the party, there is a constant dialogue if the atmosphere is healthy and normal and there is often a difference of opinion, but it "remains within the four walls". This is not talked about publicly, Žarko. Nor do you run to some television. Unless there is some "force majeure".
5. To justify such public performances (and there were even two of them in the last three months, which is a bit strange considering that for the previous three years until August 30 you did not have a single performance of this type and in that format) with attacks by propagandists and mercenaries , does not befit a serious man. A serious man chooses contempt and ignorance for ill-intentioned and paid critics instead of justification.
6. Next. If I were in Žarko's place as president of the Ura Council, I would be more concerned about the fact why, out of a multi-member Council, the hawkers found a reason to turn to him. And to call him names. Why didn't they turn to another, also respectable member of the Council?! Hence, it follows that Žarko had several reasons to address the public both through RTCG and through A1, but not to explain to mercenaries how he is also a patriot, but to give full support to the majority position of GO Ura and send a message to its voters and the public - never again Drago Đurović or Darko Pajović.
7. I would not enter into an additional argumentation of the facts that I stated, which Žarko did not dispute. What he denies is not even written in my text.
In the end, to repeat, I am glad that Žarko came forward to clarify the topic I opened and I am very happy that he justified my expectations and supported the key positions: a) that the DPS oligarchy must join the opposition; b) that the new government should get a minimal chance and show whether it is really reformist or clientelistic. Well done, Žarko.
