It was the news of the century: Brano Mićunović was arrested!
The prosecutor ordered detention for up to 72 hours - it sounded like a bomb among at least 400.000 readers.
Well, that's not the most expensive news of the whole century, I went too far with the bombast. Mićunović has been of interest to the police for only 37 years, since 1983 and the murder of Stjepan Đureković.
This is not the first detention of the most famous living Nikšić citizen - I do not mention the dead race with a countryman because of ugly associations - but it will not be the last, which will end in the same way as all the previous ones.
If the media reported correctly, the businessman ended up behind bars because the guns were found with his friends.
I don't know if the new government was motivated to take this action by the story of the most famous Chicago gangster, Al Capone, who fell due to tax evasion. But, if behind this attractive arrest there is not already collected - and very reliable - evidence of some serious violation of the Criminal Code, it seems to me that this news bomb will explode in the Government's yard.
And not that it just seems to me, but that's how it should be. For the teachings of the government, which after thirty years of populism played the same card.

It's populist, if it means pandering to the masses, or adopting a religious law in the dead of night. And even more its packaging among laws that protect the working class, doctors, merchants and other poor people.
I said two months ago, when state management begins by subjugating the people, then it cannot continue in any other way than by manipulating the same people.
Others have said it, but it seems that every government, by inheriting functions, also inherits the same flaw - it only listens well to like-minded people. If at least one of the partners from the tripartite coalition had chosen as advisers those who think differently, the pre-holiday confusion would have been prevented.
Because of this, so far unprecedented but not unexpected confusion after the fall of Depees, with the commission, mandate, quorum, impeachment, competences and rights, I spent both holidays in cohabitation with very prosaic literature. New Year with the Official List and Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, and Christmas with the Law on the President and the Constitution...
It was not necessary, I could have overtaken TV Vijesti and called Srđan Perić.
- If the new government thinks that cohabitation can work here like in the most orderly countries, then it is putting itself in a rather passive position. If she wants to take over power in its full capacity, she simply has to prevent those situations that the other side will use - explained one of the best experts on domestic political and social conditions.

And there are still no opportunities for us, even though Montenegro is already in its fifth post-election month. A destroyed economy and a morally failing society are ideal conditions for the accelerated development of populism.
From day to day, the order of religion, the order of politics, as before August 30. The only difference is that the former opposition shows signs of awareness that it did come to power, but not that the power is still in the hands of the former government.
Is that possible? Yes, because Depees - down to the smallest detail - organized the state management as if he would rule until death. Own or Montenegro...
And why will power remain in the hands of the former government, and not just for another five months, but much longer - well, we will find out only when the new government learns to publicly admit its mistakes, and not just bombard the public with the sins of the former government...
If at all she can find any rational reason why, following the paths of depees, she first changed church and not secular laws, especially those concerning crime and corruption.
And explain what kind of intelligence made her declare quarreling with the ambassadors as the most important state interest, more important even than the release of the imprisoned prosecutor's office and the judiciary...
This urgent populism can serve for domestic use, but only for a short time. We will soon be informed about the wider consequences in the long term, primarily from Brussels.

The first mistake in steps can also be seen from Podgorica. The government of Zdravko Krivokapić requested the recall of seven ambassadors, knowing that the President will not issue a decree without explanation.
Knowing the character and work of the President for thirty years, it is very likely that he would not have issued such a decree even with a reasoned explanation. But all his defensive arguments, which the "patriotic" media brainwashes citizens with day after day, would fall into the water, and how.
Then, due to the lightly promised cleansing of diplomacy from party cadres, another mistake was made. All ambassadors were invited to consultations at the same time, with a message to buy a one-way ticket.
Only one - Budimir Šegrt - was not (re)invited, even though he had already used the free ticket for Spuž. Which is a big shame for the former government. Even bigger for the new one, because she forgot to ask for his recall.
I do not believe that the President would ask for any explanation for that request. Especially not in detail, because he could be covered by it himself.
The public does not even need it, it was given by the Special Prosecutor's Office. By arrest on suspicion of grave abuse of position, with an initial weight estimated at 10 million euros.

Sometimes I really have the feeling that this government envies itself. When somehow she manages to take a step forward and a little completes the subjects who have been murdered for three full decades, some devil makes her immediately take two steps back.
Well, the Assembly has made only one so far, copying the session from December last year and placing the Law on Freedom of Religion at the top of the agenda. Well, according to the urgent procedure, on the eve of two holidays. One of which has been too effectively dividing not only two groups of believers, but also two nations for thirty years.
I believe the dead-of-night vote is just a coincidence caused by depees, inventing legal entanglements. But I can't believe that no one, absolutely no one from the new government could have predicted that.
I am weak towards the President of the Assembly Aleksa Bečić, I understand his desire to show maximum understanding for all requests, especially those of the Government.
However, I do not understand Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić at all. Not only because, by insisting on a religious law before the adoption of some drastically more important ones, he consciously contributed to moving away from the most important goal of Bečić's party - victory and not division. But much more because of the consequences that changing that law will cause again and again. And not in the parties, but in the whole of Montenegro.

Perhaps it was not possible to expect more statesmanship from a professor of mechanical engineering so devoted to God and a politician with the image of a good man from the neighborhood. But there is more understanding for the environment in which he lives, and especially for people with different worldviews.
After all, both the Christian faith and the secular function oblige him to do so. Attending the Christmas celebrations on both calendars, the Prime Minister sent good messages, the meaning of which I hope will be completed already during the next Eid in one of the mosques.
Unfortunately, the message that Nikšić sent to the faithful of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church from the studios of TV does not befit the Prime Minister of a secular state.
He will have the opportunity to make amends during his first guest appearance on TVCG. Which he could refuse only before taking office.
He can continue to think whatever he wants about that Chinese copy of the public service, but out of respect for its viewers - for whom he is also the prime minister - it is high time he accepted the invitation. With the condition that he does not repeat any mistakes either then or at any time.
First, it is not true that on the occasion of the Law on Freedom of Religion "there was a referendum that took place on the streets of all the cities of Montenegro".
The participation in the rallies was the largest gathering ever, but before it is called a referendum, you should know that Montenegro has - 541.232 adults with the right to vote.
Second, to the question of the Prime Minister's attitude towards the Montenegrin Church, no matter what he personally thinks of it, he does not give a mocking answer:
"Liberal and I will explain to you how liberal he is. An acquaintance of mine in America founded a church, that church is the most profitable part of his activities, he earns a million dollars annually through the church"...
I started to write a third, to leave the canonical dilemmas to the two churches, but I better sign off for today. Along with the Prime Minister's favorite saying "Smart enough"...
PS The rest of Montenegro has had enough of prosecutorial insolence at all levels, from elementary to state. Milena Orlandić was arrested at the beginning of September for trying to hide and destroy several ballot control coupons. Aleksa Ivanovic is still at large, even though he tried to hide and cancel the electoral will of at least 5.000 voters who voted on August 30 for the URA to get a fourth deputy.
