A letter to a friend
At the end of the day, when everything begins to sink into sleep, for us, my dear friend, a new day begins. A new day that gives birth to successes, and that success is called the breath of life, the struggle to move on after hellish torments and survived fears.
Our camaraderie started in high school, with no worries other than trivial things, sweet dreams and hidden glances...
Well, the parting that life brings, everyone goes their own way, and then somewhere at some crossroads of life, our paths cross again. With that unexpected news about the disease that comes as a plague of this time in which neither people nor all doctors are the same. It's hard and the soul hurts when you find out that cancer is there and the question is what to do next? You first, and I shortly after you, with the same sufferings and questions. But you were my savior and guide on how to go through all that and endure. I remember well when I brought my findings and you compared them to yours and cried looking at me in disbelief. Is it possible that we will fight this difficult battle together. Don't blame my family, they were silent followers of this whole story that remains deeply etched in the soul from which one cannot escape.
One doctor, a great man, gave us new life, breathed strength and hope that there is still salvation. Six years have already passed, and the two of us defended our dissertation with dozens of others, which is called steel will and military discipline of life in the fight against breast cancer.
We have always been strong, we are stronger together, because you gave your humanity to many sick women, of whom, unfortunately, there are more and more every day. I am writing this to convey good thoughts and best wishes for recovery to all women who find themselves in this situation, because you never know what will happen next. To know that everything can be overcome with will and perseverance, as well as faith in oneself.
My heart aches for my young friend Milena from Tivat, who was taken by illness, and I could not help her, but that's why I help all the women who contact me, at least through advice to alleviate everything they are going through, because those who haven't been through it - don't know cannot understand.
I don't blame myself and you my friend, I wish you many more beautiful springs, life's joys and happiness from your son, such beautiful sunny days and friendships filled with laughter and happiness, and the tears, those we shed because of illness together, may the wind carry them.. .far... far.
