Manifesto of the singing slave

We live in a society of negative selection, clientelism, nepotism and incompetence, where mediocrity or total incompetence is selected for staffing, where the "party booklet", more directly and disastrously than in the former system, is more important than knowledge, expertise and honesty

The Croatian opposition is not disunited, but, paradoxically, the Croatian opposition is not eager for power, has no "interest", no "strength" to launch an enlightened attack on the thirty-four-year-old Octopus of the Rulers. Apart from the president of the country, Milanović, no one is sufficiently motivated and ready to start things from the deadlock, the result of the recently held parliamentary elections, which took place in strange, somewhat suspicious circumstances, says Karolina Vidović Krišto, our new Croatian David Icke, very suggestively supporting doubts about the regularity of the elections. But, however, the opposition fell to a whisper, accepted the comfortable opposition position, parliamentary salaries, with visible relief, coming to terms with the outcome of the "honorably" lost parliamentary elections.

It's not easy, it's really not easy... The ruling octopus stretched out like chewing gum, stuck its arms in the largest socio-political systems in the country, cultural institutions, media... but also in the smallest, seemingly insignificant everyday existential problems, such as a free bed in a hospital, or various incentives for energy renewal, incentives for young entrepreneurs or young farmers - which are difficult or impossible to achieve, if, by any chance, we are in conflict with the same Octopus, that is, if we do not agree to its "rules of the game", or, simply put, we do not agree to our own conformity, which is offered to us every day as a more painless, ubiquitous, socially acceptable option - a self-evident lifestyle in these areas.

"Being a dog", like a trained dog, always on the lookout, correcting even the most benign street conversation in the market with self-censorship, because you never know who can hear what.

We are safest, in every way, if we are part of the Ruling Octopus. Being loyal to the rulers is the currency for such and such success and "peaceful life". Being part of the tribe of the Rulings, their party counterpart, is a foreign currency for tremendous benefits and privileges at every turn, at every moment of life.

But not being a member of that same Octopus, or worse, not being loyal to that same Octopus, or God forbid, being against that same Octopus, is a sin equal to suicide. By such an act, the Croatian citizen consciously denies himself the right to any success, to progress, to a peaceful life, to prosperity, by such an act, the Croatian citizen becomes vulnerable and unprotected from all the institutions managed by the Octopus.

Doesn't it border on pure masochism, conscious self-injury, enjoyment of one's own suffering - that proud desire for truth, for justice, not agreeing to conformity, opportunism, hypocrisy and immorality?

Why is that? Does that make sense?

Because being "persona non grata" is the nightmare of every Croatian citizen. Being ostracized from the interest network of the Rulers is a conscious blasphemous act, by which we ostracize ourselves from any possibility of advancement in business, in life; our social role is euthanized, because we are "persona non grata", excluded, isolated, bypassed, excommunicated...

We live in such a society. In a society of negative selection, clientelism, nepotism and incompetence, where mediocrity or total incompetence is chosen by staffing, where the "party booklet", more directly and disastrously than in the former system, is more important than knowledge, expertise and honesty.

Who needs that? This always the same mantra about thievery and immorality, which, at least on a declarative level, the majority of citizens are aware of, and despite this, they agree to less, agree to the continuity of mediocrity and poverty.

What else can comfort us?

The recent victory of the "fiery", or less spectacular, but still dear to the heart, the victory of our handball players "cowboys" or our water polo players "barracuda" ... And that's it.

Some black chronicle from the eastern neighborhood about a serial killer, a missing child, a bizarre statement from their president, and the feeling that, despite everything, it's still better here, despite everything, it's still better... And that, at the same time, would be it. .

Too little and too sad. What a European Union, what a Western democracy, what coppers! There is nothing there. We are still (and forever) a "country in transition", which is just a beautified euphemism for that derogatory name of some politically unstable Latin American country, whose national budget depends on the export of a monoculture, and power is held by a corrupt group - it is, you guessed it, the so-called "banana state".
