Ever since August 2020, Montenegro has been permanently in a pre-election state, which is the same as a pre-infarction state. I tell a friend that I watched the debate that is the prelude to the elections in Podgorica, and he asks me and himself: "How could you?". Everything is in over his head, he is trying to escape from politics, but he has nowhere to go, it is everywhere. There are heads on the square looking at the fountain, looking at those kids strumming electric cars. "How could you?" is not a question of turning away from politics and looking away, but the question is interpreted as "How could you bear to watch that?". What a surprise there was when I said that I watched everything, from beginning to end. I endured, I watched the whole debate, to see everything and I saw everything and I heard everything.
It's a pity that the City Theater is not finished, not because I expect some spectacular repertoire and sumptuous talent, but because they could at least transfer the debate from state television to the new City Theater. Dress the actors in suits, copy the text from the debate, make the stages and the play is ready. You know the duration, there is no outcome, and it really can't be better. There was so much good debate, mouth full of politics and promises, but all in vain. Every detail was precious, from clothing, hairstyles, tics, jackets that were too big or too tight, chest beating, complexes and derailments. One came to the debate about the Podgorica elections to talk about history and the church, he didn't give up until he trivialized himself and the church and everyone in the studio. The situation was such that it was a pleasure to listen to the Tenant's representative, because he had no need to act, he was a man who was precise and concrete, he represents people who have serious problems, who do not have a roof over their heads.
It was too sad to see so many men in the studio, because the only woman was the leader of the debate. It's the first thing that catches the eye, but it also says a lot. If we put aside their political (in)power and (in)ability to cope, it is still a phenomenon Carols i Ana Brnabić brought about such a change in the Balkans. Some will say that they didn't do anything significant, but by their very appearance they changed the discourse of politics, which was mainly associated with males. In Montenegro, a key function in the state has not yet been occupied by a woman, and it would be good if that happened, for the sake of Montenegro, for the sake of women, but also for the sake of men, so that they have someone to look up to in terms of style and tact.
Of course, promises were pouring in, of course everyone was throwing around pre-learned text and platitudes, they tried to poke and prod, blame and denounce, but despite everything, nothing new was heard. Vanity per cubic meter. Because everyone is wasted, hardly anyone has an attitude, even an authentic speech and posture. The vast majority of those present are not even aware of where she came from, where they are, they are shocked when they see themselves on a screen on the side of the studio. We got to those The Vorholovs 15 minutes, because he claimed that everyone will get their 15 minutes of fame. This debate was proof that it is never easier to become famous, to end up in a debate on state television in prime time. You just need a little elbow room, ambition and a suit. This debate was sad, because the vast majority of participants did not understand the point that it is more important to say one sentence correctly than to shoot fifteen sentences, because time is running out.
The reality is that some of those present will win enough votes, come to an agreement and probably exercise power in Podgorica. The fact is that all those present mostly listed the problems, that none of those present claimed that everything is fine in the capital. The debate is over, the elections will be, and it seems that only these problems will remain.
