Repent, the end of the world is near, the signs of the apocalypse are multiplying and each one is more convincing than the last! Or maybe it's not exactly the end of the world, but only a grotesque regime? Whose high priest put on that plaid jacket - the only logical explanation is that he stole it from Đorđe Čvarkov - so he doesn't take it off, as if he is sending us a sublime message: “Well, you've never taken me seriously, have you?” Okay, we get the point, you can take it off.
However, without all joking, it smacks of the Apocalypse when things start to happen that normally never happen, anywhere and to anyone.
For example, when the government suddenly gives schoolchildren an extra holiday and they reject it with disdain and say that they intend to continue attending school. And their teachers say the same thing, adding that the government makes them, the teachers, lawbreakers with its stupid illegal decision. And they are honorable and honest people, they are not ministers and deputies in the service of the one in Chvarkov's jacket. And every day they are looked at and evaluated by hundreds of pairs of clear children's eyes. Well, it's not very appropriate for them to brag.
In short, the disintegration of meaning has reached such a point that children, who until yesterday believed in Santa Claus, have seen through the stupid tricks with which Nebranko Kockica and his team are trying to dilute and make impossible what is increasingly looking like a permanent uprising of the humiliated and insulted, of all those who are fed up that fools make them mad and madmen make them fools.
Why exactly now, why exactly this, and not on some other tragic occasion, and at least we didn't lack those? It is and it is not easy to understand, but in the end it is not the most important thing. All pitchers go to the water until they break, and if they knew in advance what kind of water it is, they would stay on dry land. But that's impossible, and much better ones have a shelf life.
Although they are proven artists of surviving what an honest man could not, and perhaps did not want to survive at all costs, Nebranko and his colleagues this time seem to have not only a good but even a non-idiotic answer to any challenge, so they are digging deeper and deeper into the living sand, and nowhere the hands that would rescue them and take them out of there. Threats and insults do not help, beatings even less, vain flattery and attempts at cheap bribery do not work, hypnosis techniques have an increasingly weak effect on fewer and fewer people.
And then what should they do? Worry is already giving way to panic, and panic is the worst thing in them, so bad that even they themselves are a little surprised that they dug it up from the depths of their shallowness.
What, for example, was mined by Vladimir Đukanović, nicknamed Đuka and something else, a law graduate, the most respectable among disreputable lawyers, and generally one of the intellectual flagships of the panicked clique. Be careful now: "A child is the property of the state until he reaches adulthood." Word for word. No, it's not a metaphor - although, what kind of metaphor would it be? - nor is there room for metaphor. The idea that any human being is someone's property was last considered legitimate during the time of slavery, and back then it was hardly approved by anyone but the slave owners themselves. And that applies to a person at any age, even a baby, let alone a teenager. A child is not and cannot be the property of even its parents, let alone the state, company, institution. How could there be a legal brain that could come up with that? How could there be any brain that would give birth to such an idea, and not explode immediately afterwards?
Admittedly, if they haven't burst yet, they have burst dangerously. The kids are waiting for them at the bend and are calmly counting the days until the Big Bang. And what happens in the Big Bang? Something emerges from Nothing, and spreads in all directions with unimaginable speed. Serbia, it seems, is more and more ready for that zero hour in which they will cancel nothingness.
