The paranoia of the government, the vampire ideology of the 1990s, which never completely calmed down and spread through all the pores of society, is what deeply unsettles, creating impressions of the constant entrapment of this space in the same repetitive matrices. The entire post-Yugoslav horizon is so bogged down in the constant shouting of ethno-national curses that it often reaches the thermal phase of madness. It's as if the nineties were yesterday, as if we hadn't moved an inch away from wars and hatred. This unprecedented insistence on persevering in what we naively believed had passed shows us again and again that real peace, based on facing and resolving the consequences of war, never existed. In other words, all the political power in the region is aimed above all at justifying their own weaknesses and confusion with accusations that it is others, across the border, who are disrupting our prosperity and our reach. This clearly exposes all the horror of what we have been living in for three decades. So, whenever things are pushed to the extreme limits of endurance, the weapon used to homogenize the national body becomes the transfer of the ball to "the other side", if only they were not so close to us, we would be the best in the world. And that, in short, is the recipe that has been going on all these years, which gives results to nationalist barbarogeny in order to maintain its positions acquired through hatred.
The student blockades and protests in Belgrade that are still going on show us that it is possible to look at things differently. You can feel that these young people have finally raised their heads, that they no longer care what they have been doing for years, that they have freed themselves from all imposed burdens and fears. Of course, it is difficult to expect that this will now promptly remove from the scene the clique that has so captured all segments of society in Serbia, but it is of crucial importance that it is shown that it is possible to get out of the matrix of the current moment. That it makes sense to fight. All attempts to get by on the cheap, to buy those young people who have seen through the government, which has become a general danger to life and the future, do not pass. The students clearly defined what they are interested in, what kind of future they are interested in, why they want what they have to say to finally be heard. Now that their position is clearly defined, there is no doubt that the fate of the government has been determined, and what will be articulated in the future as a result of this rebellion is a good example of how one can really fight and resist.
It is interesting these days to see how in the propaganda media's spittoon they try to satanize the youth who resist the suppression of any form of rebellion, because, it is claimed, roses bloom in Serbia at every step, but it is undoubted that many have unstoppably released their voice, that they have overcome and overripe fear. It is also obvious that in the political sense there is still no real articulation that can bring change, but the fact is that it has started, that from what the students have started now, something much bigger and more serious will definitely develop, despite everything. It is wonderful to see what is happening and due to the fact that everyone rejected the consciousness of the students, they thought that young people were eaten by social networks and manipulation, but the essence of a young man is to raise his voice, to overthrow any kind of authority, to oppose and fight for yourself.
The regional recognition of student blockades, regardless of all official obstructions, is an extremely important segment of all of this, we should believe that the wave from Belgrade will begin to reach the shores of Sarajevo, to all other points where it is necessary to initiate change. The spirit of Yugoslavia always hovers like a specter above the ethno-national particularisms that have kept us captive for so long. Although we should have no illusions about some unifying moment of our countries, it is extremely important to show solidarity and support what is a true desire to change things. Because our fate is the same, we live in the same chaos, in which the predatory authorities, under the guise of national unity, have turned us into zombies who are unable to imagine a different reality. I will end with the words of Mitja Velikonja from the book "Ukrainian Vignettes": "(...) Nationalisms are nothing but ways of governing the neoliberalism of the pauperized masses. Neoliberalism creates class differences, nationalism ethnically levels them. In short, what neoliberalism impoverishes materially, ethnonationalism ideologically justifies."
