Dr. Blažo Mirojev BOGETIĆ 1925-2025.

Time is the space of human development! This space is an objectively given category for every human being, and how he will use it depends on the person himself, his efforts, abilities, and above all, on his work. If a person uses this “space” well, he contributes to his overall development and his personal happiness and satisfaction, as well as to the development of the entire society.

It can be said with great certainty that Dr. Blaž Bogetić made full use of that "space", primarily for the good of society at a time when his abilities were fully expressed.

In the personality of Dr. Blaž Bogetić, four basic threads came together:economist, scientist with a large research output and publications in the field of economics and finance, state and social leader, and prominent social worker.

Blažo graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade in 1959, received his master's degree and completed his doctoral studies in 1973.

The Bogetić family, of which Blažo was the progenitor, was considered for a long time a family of the intellectual elite, in which five doctors of science and university professors lived and worked, which is a rarity not only in Montenegro!

From an early age, Blažo displayed valuable tendencies. From 1943 until 1945, he actively collaborated and participated in the Homeland War.

After graduating from college, he worked on many complex and responsible jobs, in the economic and financial professions and sciences, such as: state expert affairs (Parliament, Executive Council of Montenegro, National Bank of Montenegro, Montenegrin and Yugoslav financial and monetary policy, Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, Faculty of Economics in Podgorica, Investment Bank in Podgorica, Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, editorial offices of Montenegrin and Yugoslav economic and financial magazines, newspapers "Pobjeda" and "Privredni pregled" (Belgrade), as well as many other social institutions and their publications.

Within this framework, it is particularly important to highlight the following responsible employment tasks:

- State Secretary for Economy, Finance and Financial Control (1949-1960);

- Chief Financial Inspector at the National Bank of Montenegro, 1962-1968;

- Deputy General Manager of the Investment Bank in Podgorica (1975-1978);

- Vice Governor of the National Bank of Montenegro (1978-1985);

- Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (1975-1978).

Dr Blažo Bogetić has published three books:

- “Evolution of the system of social financial records and control” published by Privredni pregled, Belgrade, 1981;

- “Issues of the economic system and economic policy” published by Obod, Cetinje, 1997 and

- “Monetary and credit problems of banks and financial control” published by Obod, Cetinje, 1998.

Dr. Bogetić has received several awards for his work achievements:

- Labor Medals 1949;

- Order of Labor with a silver wreath, 1960;

- Medal of Merit to the Nation, 1963;

- Order of Labor with Golden Wreath, 1972;

- Order of Merit for the People with Silver Rays, 1980;

At the same time, the winner is also:

- International Golden Mercury Awards 1977;

- Gold badges of the Association of Accounting and Financial Workers of Yugoslavia, 1978, and

- Gold plaques of the Yugoslav Chamber of Commerce, 1978.

It was a time when the works of the then post-war generation surpassed their goals, or rather - it was a generation that defeated its time!

There are a small number of people who combine everything that makes a person so broadly complex, where activities in the areas of: professional and scientific work, management, book publishing, and social work are combined.

Eternal thanks and glory to Dr. Blaž Bogetić for the work he left us as a legacy and memory.
