A people committing genocide cannot sing. The world that watches a people committing genocide cannot sing with them. Nor can it accept that such a people want to continue singing as if nothing had happened. The fact that Israel even thinks of participating in a singing competition at the height of the genocide in Gaza, with glitter and light effects, while its soldiers mercilessly kill and destroy, testifies to its moral bankruptcy. Israel had to realize on its own that there is no place for it in any international celebration. If it had humbly bowed its head and withdrawn from Eurovision itself, it would have preserved more dignity than throwing accusations of anti-Semitism at the entire world, as if it were the world that was committing the massacre in Gaza, not the Israeli army.
Eurovision is a music competition of broadcasting corporations in Europe, which Israel has entered, as well as other European events in the fields of science, sports and arts, thanks to Europe's special relationship. A week of pleasures and music, and even enough art for fans of this genre. The competition is considered apolitical, but in 2022 the organizers decided to expel Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine.
The decision was accepted as a given at the time. No one complained about “Russo-haters” back then. Because who wants to play Cossack with young people sent by those who shelled apartment buildings in Kiev? Russia is not participating in Eurovision, it deserved it. The elimination was not a political step, but an ethical one. Israel did not thunder to the world then.
In terms of brutality and genocidal acts, Israel's invasion of Gaza far surpasses the cruel and criminal Russian invasion of Ukraine. If we look, for example, at the number of children killed - an index that shows the degree of barbarity - in Ukraine 659 children were killed during the three and a half years of war, and in Gaza more than 18 thousand in two years.
Should one even ask whether a country that kills thousands of children has the right to participate in any international celebration? What are you talking about when you talk about anti-Semitism in this context? Only philo-Semitism and love for Israel allowed it to be part of that competition at all. It had no place there even then.
Israelis pretend to be offended. The stupid media tells them that everyone hates us because of the Muslims in Europe. That is easier to swallow, even though it is an absolute lie. Europe hates us because of the children Israel is killing in the Gaza Strip, not because of Muslim immigrants. There is no conscientious person in the world who is exposed to images of the horrors of Gaza without scorning those who commit these crimes.
In contrast to the Israelis, whom their blind media protects from themselves, the world sees and can no longer remain silent. This is not the right of the world, but its obligation. One can be lenient towards the Russian people because of the dictatorship they live in, but there is no leniency towards those who claim to be a democracy. The government of Israel represents the people, and the war in Gaza is acceptable to the majority. The fact is that the majority goes to that war with joy or blind obedience; the majority does not care about genocide, as long as the abductees return. If it were not for them, there would be no demonstrations here.
We deserve a harsher punishment than this, especially since the phase of absolute madness has begun in Gaza City. That would not be hatred of Israel: that is what justice looks like. With blood on its hands, Israel should not even try to be admitted to a club that accepts such criminals. Playing in May 2026 in the Stadthalle in Vienna on the blood of ethnically cleansed and destroyed Gaza? It is a shame for Europe that only five countries have so far opposed Israel's participation. Israel does not deserve to be there.
