Finally, a little calm. A few days have passed without tents, book-hunting, asking framed questions about roads, and some even about getting a job through the SNS scheme. However, we can't do without him, so he joined the program of Mrs. Mom's favorite television to tell us that he is about to call elections and thus fulfill all the wishes of the hated "blockaders".

Many people believe that he is invincible in the elections. Not because of the policies he represents, but because of electoral engineering, to put it in fluent Serbian - because of electoral robbery. Whenever I hear something like that, a question pops out of me like a cocked gun: if that's the case, why doesn't he call elections, what is he waiting for?

A month and a half have passed since he said he would be the president of Serbia for a few more weeks. Here it is, mid-August, and there has been no sign of his resignation. Previously, he called elections with a bang. He combined the incompatible. Half of the cities and municipalities voted in December one year, the other half in June the following year. Now it seems like parliamentary elections are coming, and presidential elections will be held one day.

He hopes for something, that things will get better for him in "a few more weeks". It is unlikely that anything will work out in his favor. Money is running out. The stadium for EXPO is not coming. On social networks, they joke that it is already sinking. The money that is being distributed to the people from the state treasury in September will probably correspond to that famous election announcement. That is his penultimate hope.

The last one concerns us, our divisions, frictions, discussions, quarrels and, above all, the misunderstanding of the situation we find ourselves in. He reckons that the students will divide, that the people who support the students will fight to the death. When it comes to the opposition, he doesn't have to try very hard. As things stand now, he will have a part of the opposition that will support the students (DS, Kreni-Promeni and ZLF), the pro-EU list (SSP, Srce, PSG and Solidarity), Miki's list (NPS, Parandilović, Ćuta, dr Milić), the authentic right (New DSS and monarchists) and the sovereignists (NS, Dosta je bilo, Nestorovi svidoci). A pleasure for an autocrat in power. If half of them don't pass the census, for example, it's a big deal to him because according to Dont, he gets a piece of the pie, and God forbid that none of them pass. To all of that, we should add various minority lists that will appear only for these elections. And then the students are to blame. Of course they are not.

For the first time in the past 15 years, all public opinion polls show that the SNS is no longer the strongest political party in Serbia. I'm not talking about its research conducted by Lipsos and Faktor Minus. We never received their research results in the way we had insight into the last three surveys that were presented to the public. Why? The answer is simple, they are not to his liking. In front are students who do not yet have a list, nor the official holders of that list. They have nothing, but they have the greatest trust. Strange, but that's how it is.

Since the uprising in Serbian society has been going on, student representatives have never had the opportunity to be a guest on any media outlet with national coverage. Not a single editor from those media outlets has come up with the idea of ​​inviting any of the students and asking them what they want, what their politics are, what they don't like. They don't throw around that much. And then, with a click of the fingers of those same students, 180.000 people come to Slavija, and the President of Serbia, with all possible logistics, cannot gather even a third of them on the eve of Vidovdan with all possible assistance. That may be the answer to why he is not calling elections. He cannot, just as he cannot allow the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament to call presidential elections, because he has no one to nominate as a candidate.

Serbia, however, is not a normal, democratic and free country and the upcoming electoral robbery will be of epic proportions. Success in the elections will be measured precisely by our ability to prevent this theft and our willingness to defend the electoral will with all our hearts. Voting is only one part of the election. Preventing theft is the second, and the third and most important is defending the electoral will. We did not perform well in Kosjerić, Zaječar, Bor, Kula, and everywhere else where voting has taken place in the meantime. The current president is counting on that. Our job is not to provide him with that satisfaction, but to ensure that every vote is counted and defended.

It will be difficult, harder than we think, because while we are now thinking about who will be where and on which list, he is in his head devising electoral engineering with which he will try to trick us this time too. It is time to oppose this decisively and courageously.
