An exhibition was opened last night in the "Josip Bepo Benković" Gallery, where a part of the artworks from the rich fund of the "Dr.Simo Milošević" Institute was presented, and the occasion was seventy years since the establishment of this medical institution.

"Since its establishment in 1949, the Spa, the Institute, and the Igalo Institute have been enriching their space with works of art. A smaller part was purchased from prominent authors, and the larger part was a gift. Whether they are artists who, as a sign of gratitude, after using the services of this health resort, gave away their works, whether they were left over after the successful painting colonies organized by the Igalo Institute for many years. In all areas of the Institute, you can see works of art by more or less well-known authors from different countries, different styles and techniques of artistic creation, created in different periods of the seventy-year history of this health institution", said the executive director of the Institute, Dr. Gordana Rajović.

The head of the Gallery, Đuro Beli Prijić, said that considering the Institute's extremely rich fund, it was not easy to make a choice for the exhibition in which the works of 52 authors were presented.

"What the Institute does with the works is an example not only for institutions of a similar profile, but also for all Montenegrin galleries. The institute has a depot that is smaller than ours, and has three times more works. They put the works of art on display for the public, visitors, and their patients, and that is the right way and attitude towards art," Prijić pointed out.

The Igalo Institute owns over 800 works of art from the former Yugoslavia, among which are very prominent artists such as Jovan Bijelić, Milan Konjović, Mat Đuranović, Bat Pravilović, Luka Berberović, Srđan Vukčević, Voj Tatar, Nikola Vujošević, Naod Zorić, Luka Tomanović.

The exhibition will be open until April 6.
