"I am a collector of unusual things. Some others collect badges and stamps. I collect days, hours and moments", are the words of Miroslav Antić. A selected group of young people from Nikšić, gathered in the Literary Club "Poenta Poetika" of the Zahumlje State University, have been successful for five years. "collects" verses and emotions that he selflessly shares with his fellow citizens.
It all started in July 2014, when Obrad Nenezić and Goran Radojičić decided to offer a "safe haven" to young "collectors" of verse, and they received a hand of support from JU "Zahumlje".
"We believed that the establishment of 'Poenta Poetica' was the right thing and that Obrad Nenezić's idea had potential. The first significant impetus to the fundamental development of the club was achieved through the support of 'Zahumlje' for the idea that Obrad and I presented. If there was no such support, the question is how things would have developed until now and whether the club would exist at all. Then the enthusiasm of young people, the desire to create, promote and establish, strengthened the club and gave it a boost. The 'poetic point' was a refuge, starting point and wind for all members The club did not aim to 'infect' young people with poetry, but to discover those already 'infected' and give them the space to become recognized for their dedication and love of poetry", Goran, president of Poenta Poetika, told "Vijesti" Radojicic.
He is proud that he was part of the maturation and development of a new generation of Nikšić poets, that he was a witness to the birth of new poems, that he helped to "paint" Nikšić again with those recognizable colors of poetry.
"Nikšić is a city of poets and I am proud that the club managed to help create the third and youngest generation of poets from Nikšić, whose work has enriched Nikšić's literary scene so far, and will continue to do so. I am always proud when young poets realize their wishes and dreams, win awards, are presented at important literary reviews".
"Poenta Poetics" has about thirty members and new young poets are constantly coming to them, who see in the aforementioned Club a chance for their verses to be heard by others, for their poems to be published, for their emotions to be recognised.
"So far, we have published two collections of poetry, 'Mozaik', and a third one is being prepared, which will be co-financed by the Ministry of Culture, which approved the funds in the competition. There are also plans to print a book that will feature four great poets from Nikšić (Vito Nikolić, Milan Dugo Krivokapić, Dragan Radulović and Vukman Otašević) from the perspective of young poets, artists, students and professors. The goal is to show how young people experience the creativity of these artists and to what extent they are receptive to it," explains Radojičić.
In the five years of its existence, they have arranged many diverse literary programs, and it will be the same in the future. They don't lack will and desire, inspiration is there, new verses are born every day, and to their satisfaction, the audience is there, ready to hear them.
"Many of the programs we organized were very innovative, interesting and different from what was done before, so that the whole city can be proud of it. which often resemble those that have happened in our organization. We are proud to see that our work is noticed by others and valued in such a way that our ideas, in a positive sense and with good intention, are the basis for creating programs. Energy offered by young poets, has influenced the fact that 'Poenta Poetika' is the bearer of the literary production of JU 'Zahumlje' and one of the more serious subjects of the literary production of Nikšić's cultural scene", not without pride", concluded Radojičić.
The last Mohican from Nikšić
One of those who "grew up" with "Poenta" is the poet Lazar Šćekić.
"We were all a little skeptical when the literary club was created, because it seemed that there was never less room for poetry. Now, after five years of good words behind us, it seems that 'Poenta Poetika' is the first and perhaps the last Mohican that will continue to gathers young poets from Nikšić", Šćekić said.
The poetic "Mosaic" still has a lot to offer
The young poetess Sonja Milatović has been a member of the club since its foundation and admits that "Poenta Poetica" happened to her at the right time, but also promises that the young poets from Nikšić continue to "put together the mosaic that started".
"For these five years, moments of inspiration have alternated with those when the pen simply runs dry, moments when seemingly certain prizes slip out of your hands, with moments when others surprise you and you wonder if you are really worth them. Many things have changed, but one thing remains the same. The truth is that the club always stands by us, that club president Goran Radojičić is always there to provide unreserved support and that the other members are there to be both the most loyal audience and the harshest critics. That is the charm. I am grateful because is the 'Point of Poetics' the right thing that happened to me at the right time. The club, as a guardian of the culture and recognizable spirit of Nikšić, a meeting place of all generations, became the home of our joint victories, because we all successfully presented significant projects crowned by our first and second collection. We continue to assemble the mosaic, because...we have only just begun".
