The independent exhibition of the Montenegrin artist, sculptor Ivana Radovanović will be opened in the Silvermine Art Center, in the United States of America, in the state of Connecticut, today at 18.30:XNUMX p.m.
At the exhibition, she will be presented with an installation that was made for the forest park that is part of the school where she stayed. The materials she used in her new work are: jute, twine and clay. The installation is large, so the artist does not have precise dimensions, she told "Vijesti", because it was made in several locations in the forest.
The "Silvermine Fulbright" residential program was initiated and established in that center this year under the auspices of painter and philanthropist Janet Hennessey Dilenschneider and her husband Robert Dilenschneider.
Radovanović had the honor of being the first "Art Resident", so she spent two weeks in Connecticut, in this art center, and one of the results of her stay was an exhibition.
Before the opening, the Montenegrin artist will talk about her work and the experience she gained in America, and after that part, "together with those present, she will go to the opening of a new space for reflection", according to the announcement of the event.
Radovanović was born in 1983 in Podgorica. She graduated in 2006 in the class of prof. Pavle Pejović. She received her master's degree in 2009 from the same mentor, and her doctorate in 2016 at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade under the mentorship of prof. Dušan Petrović
