The theater program of this year's festival begins on the new festival stage, the Zavala stage, on July 6. The Zagreb Youth Theater is visiting Budva with "Hinkeman" based on the play "German Hinkeman" by Ernst Toler, directed by Igor Vuk Torbica, one of the most successful plays of previous theater seasons in the region.
Toler's story about a man who suffers after the war, according to all the accolades and criticisms that follow the play, the ZKM ensemble, guided by the precise directorial methodology of Igor Vuk Torbica, translates it into modernity, but also contemporary. As, among other things, Teofil Pančić states, "Hinkeman" is "fascinatingly exciting theater, inspiring, playful, simultaneously lyrical and painful and grotesque and timeless and contemporary (and without the violent, schematic "actualizations" that have been in our noses for a long time) in which both acting and theatrical creation triumph, a play that hits just about every key point of inherent moral and social misery..." The play was declared the best at the festivals INFANT, "Gavelne večeri", "Bez prevoda", at the International Festival of Small Scenes in Rijeka , while she also received the award of the Croatian Theater for the best theater performance as a whole. At the festivals "Gavelina večeri", "Bez prevoda" and the Festival of Small Scenes in Rijeka, Torbica was declared the best director, while the acting skills of Rakan Rushaidat and Ozren Grabarić were also recognized (Grabarić won an award at "Gavelina večeri", at the festival "Bez translation" for the best male role and the "Veljko Maričić" award in Rijeka; Rushaidat the Annual Award of the Croatian Actors' Guild and the "Mediterranean" award of Novi List in Rijeka).
In addition to Rakan Rushaidat and Ozren Grabarić, the play features Mia Melcher, Frano Mašković, Doris Šarić Kukuljica, Dado Ćosić, Petar Levantić, Jasmin Telalović, Vedran Živolić, Marica Vidušić, Nađa Perišić Radović, Milivoj Beader and Milica Manojlović.
The dramaturgy is written by Katarina Pejović, the scenography was done by Branko Hojnik, the costume design by Doris Kristić, while the music was composed by Alen and Nenad Sinkauz.
The show starts at 21 p.m. Transportation is provided for the audience from the "Olimpije" station (in the city) at 20.15:XNUMX p.m.
