The retrospective exhibition of paintings "Records of Duration" by the artist Savo Pavlović, which marked 50 years of his creativity, was opened the night before yesterday in Budva. The organizers pointed out that due to the rich artistic oeuvre of the artist, the exhibition was set up in all exhibition spaces of the Museums and Galleries of Budva - the "Red Commune" Memorial House, the "Reževići" Memorial House, the "Jovo Ivanović" Modern Gallery and the "Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša" Memorial House. .
The exhibition was officially opened in the "Jovo Ivanović" Modern Gallery by Marin Ivanović, M.Sc., an art historian from Dubrovnik, and the attendees were greeted by the director of the Museums and Galleries of Budva, Lucija Đurašković, M.Sc.
"With this large retrospective exhibition, we encompassed all our gallery spaces from Petrovac, through Režević, to Budva, within which we had the desire to chronologically and through cycles, present a cross-section of Sav's rarely fruitful artistic creation and in the best way to announce the imminent release of a representative monograph that we will , we hope to present as part of this year's Municipal Days", said Đurašković.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro, Sandra Đurbuzović, pointed out that "Savo Pavlović's activities so far have left an authentic mark on the Montenegrin cultural space, but also beyond".
"We can say with certainty that for 50 years of creation and pedagogical work, the author positively influenced the movements and development of the art scene in our country. His work contributed to the creation and promotion of the high artistic reach of Montenegro, which is best evidenced by this exhibition. The Mediterranean imaginary of Savo Pavlović, materialized by a skilled process, captivates and calls for a celebration of life. Only in the background do we sense the note of melancholy of the coastal landscape, which, like the "moisture of dreams, captures the soul", as the great poet Tin Ujević would say. "Pavlović is an artist of great curiosity, strong emotional and spiritual experience, and his work represents one of the most significant testimonies about the specifics of this region expressed through the universal language of art," said Đurbuzović.
At the opening, the vice-president of the Municipality of Budva, Marko Marković, spoke, and in the musical part of the program, the pianist Ninoslava Zlatković performed, who started the evening with her musical numbers, as well as a cover of Pashtro songs.
The exhibition will be open until September 22. The organizers also announce that an evening with the artist is being prepared, which will be held in the "Reževići" Memorial House during the first half of September.
