The summer at the end was the period of the most intensive activities of the Montenegrin-Slovak Friendship Association (CSP) based in Podgorica, in the fields of international cooperation in science, culture and sports. In June, the CSP delegation participated in the IV Congress of Matica and related cultural institutions of the Slavic peoples, held in the city of Martin, which is the capital of Slovak culture for many centuries and the seat of Matica Slovak. On that occasion, models of future cooperation with the management of Matica slovačka were agreed upon - translation of books by Montenegrin authors into the Slovak language.
In Slovakia, CSP also mediated the promotion of Montenegrin art in Košice, a city that was the European capital of culture in 2013, academic painter Jelena Vušurović from Cetinje had a solo exhibition "Etheral" in the gallery "Vychodoslovenské múzeum" from July 30th to August XNUMXth.
"This exhibition is very important for the establishment of cultural cooperation between artists from Montenegro and Slovakia, because it is the first exhibition of a Montenegrin artist in Košice, which was covered by the local regional and state media. With the support of the Slovak Art Academy from Bratislava, we also realized the international symposium "Slovak Art ", and we also took part in the 54th Folk Festival "Under Poľanou" in Detva with an exhibition within the VI Courtyard of the Slovak Diaspora "Krajanský dvor", informed "Vijesti" from CSP.
This association, with the support of the Fund for the Protection and Realization of Minority Rights of Montenegro, realized the project "Mare Nostrum", and also participated in the 23rd convocation of the art colony "Buljarica Art". At the invitation of CSP, a group of student youth from Matica slovačka stayed in Tivat in June and performed a concert of Slovak folk songs in the Donja Lastva Cultural Centre, and in July, with the support of the USŽZ from Bratislava, they opened a Slovak language school for children and youth in Podgorica.
"CSP was recently called the institution of culture by international cultural workers, because in its mission it maintains and promotes traditional cultural values with the aim of preserving national identity, language, folk customs with an emphasis on the education of youth and children, improving educational projects in the fields of education, culture and science," the Association added.
Last week, the CSP expedition participated in the International Days of Slovak Youth in Oradea, Romania, and the association's delegation is now preparing for Croatia, where it will perform in Markovac Našići at the traditional "20. Evening Polesnakov" organized by Matica slovačka there.
