The Minister of Culture, Aleksandar Bogdanović, will participate next week in the 40th General Conference of UNESCO, which is being held in Paris.
Bogdanović, as announced by the Ministry of Culture, will participate in the plenary session on Monday and in the meeting of the ministers of culture on Tuesday.
The General Conference of UNESCO is organized every second year and at it the policies and basic directions of the Organization's work for the next two years are determined, the two-year programs and the budget are considered and adopted.
At the conference, as they said from the Ministry, the mechanisms of cooperation and the establishment and observance of international standards, as well as other important issues and decisions within the competence of the Organization, will be analyzed.
The Conference is attended by representatives of member states, observers from non-member states, as well as representatives of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations.
At the 40th General Conference, elections will be held for important intergovernmental bodies, in accordance with the regular procedure of the Organization.
The work of the Conference will be monitored by the Permanent Delegation of Montenegro to UNESCO, consisting of Ambassador Ivan Ivanišević and representatives of the Permanent Delegation, while the Secretary General of the Montenegrin National Commission for UNESCO, Milica Nikolić, will participate in the work from November 14 to 19.
