The 51st independent exhibition of the painter Majda Mučić was organized in the gallery space of the Kolašin Cultural Center. The painter presented herself to the Klašinj audience with 21 oil paintings, which, as the art historian Draginja Kujović said, "motifally diverse and with a strong sense of color".
"The richness of Majda's creative work comes from her life of silence, in which she has lived since birth. Mučić's creativity is diverse and rich in motifs, both in the number of paintings and in the size of the canvas, on which he paints with oil paints. She paints landscapes, old urban areas, nudes and figures of women, still lifes, olive trees... With an energetic stroke or azure surfaces, she creates a composition, which is made with a clear drawing and occupies the foreground of the entire canvas. In her search for light, Majda expressed in her paintings a world with a strong sense of color," said Kujović.
The expressiveness of artistic expression, she explained, is visible especially on canvases of larger dimensions, "painted with a short stroke and a smear of paint, which becomes a relief". The landscapes painted by Mučić, said Kujović, exude a balance of what is seen and experienced.
"The figure of a woman is depicted both realistically and surreally. The painter's desire to express herself as diversely as possible with brush stroke, color, composition and motif is noticeable, which enriches her artistic oeuvre. That's why, maybe tax expressionism is the true determinant of Majda's creativity" - said Kujović.
According to the director of the "Đurđe Crnojević" National Library, Bogić Rakočević, Mučić "made something special out of her world of silence, at the same time building an artistic authority both in Montenegro and much beyond".
"She is an extremely productive painter, and her thematic interests are diverse. In all her paintings, it is possible to see, first of all, exceptional drawing skills. Someone said a long time ago that a painter is not a painter if, first of all, he does not know how to draw... Majda is a trained painter, and she will only build on her talent with her skill and persistence," he said.
Mučić was born in 1979 in Podgorica. She finished high school and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, majoring in painting, in the class of Professor Smail Karail. He has been a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro since 2004. She exhibited at several independent and collective exhibitions.
