Croatian actress Leona Paraminski, whom the Montenegrin audience met in the series "Budva na penu od mora" through the role of the attractive Mila, has been living and working in America for years.
Since she moved to the USA five years ago, Leona Paraminski does not hide that she has broadened her horizons, but also that new business opportunities have opened up for her. In addition to teaching acting at a college in Santa Barbara, he still acts, and admits that in Los Angeles it is difficult to get engagements, especially those that are worth something. As she says in an interview for Tportal, she still has a lot of things she wants to achieve, and claims that the "American dream" is actually a big lie.
“The American dream doesn't really exist. What America used to be, it is not today. So I can't say that I'm infatuated with America, I try to take only the best, I've learned a lot, a lot has come true for me as well as Tino, but I haven't yet achieved my dreams, what I thought I would like. I think the time will come for that. We'll see, give me another three, four years,' she said with a laugh.
The American film machinery, he says, is not yet working at full speed. "In America, there are terribly big regulations, everything costs a lot and only big studios, big blockbusters and the biggest stars will do it. Before the lockdown, I did several auditions and after that I didn't do anything anymore", she admits.
She believes that she has reached a certain age when she would like to do only things that interest her and she thinks that she will never work again at the pace she did when she was twenty or thirty years old. On the eve of her 40th birthday, Leona will return to America. During the pandemic, she spent time with her husband Tina Komljenović, and she enjoyed the quarantine. About the situation in the city where he lives and works, he says:
"The situation in Santa Barbara is a little better now. Restaurants are closed, and masks are mandatory everywhere so that is respected because the fines are big, I think they are around a thousand dollars. I got used to simply having to wear it. I think it's a new way of life," said the actress.
