The exhibition "In the network" by Željko Madžgalj was opened last night in the "Nenad Rakočević" Cultural Center in Mojkovac.
It is one of the events organized to meet this year's Mojkovac film autumn, which will begin on Monday, October 11.
According to the author, the choice of characters for the portraits, which make up the exhibition, is random, so that among them there are famous actors, anonymous persons and members of his family.
Madžgalj also says that the concept of the exhibition is concern and the search for individual freedom.
"We are all faced with this problem today. We have networks that connect us, the Internet, social networks, and these networks alienate us. We also have physical networks, which prevent people from getting from one space to another during the search for a better life. These networks seem to are imprinted on our faces, thus also representing concern for freedom," said Madžgalj.
Through 16 portraits, according to the director of the Culture Center Ljiljana Jokić, Madžgalj tried to show the naked world of our reality with an extremely reduced artistic approach.
In that world, she said, "man is concerned both about the existential future and about the space of personal and intellectual freedom."
The author, said Maja Ikrevari, president of the Council of the Mojkovac film autumn festival, "at least for a short time, replaced the journalist's pen with charcoal and chalk and through his works pointed out the "networks" in which we get involved or get involved every day".
"In this way, he points to the limited space for inner attitudes, intimate reflections, the state in which our freedoms, creative energy and intellectual expression are found. The content and message of the works are intrusive, floating, pulsating and looking for a way to "small", " the "everyday" man frees and shakes off the frames, frames and matrices, from anxiety and narrowness. In the time of the pandemic, of which we are hostages, and various other restrictions that lurk in almost all fields and levels, such exhibitions additionally enrich us with the beauty of the spirit, artistic and overall human of creativity. It is an invitation to think about a deeper meaning and a guide to boldly step out of the domain of the known but limited and closed," said Ikervari.
According to Mladen Blažević, artistic director of the Center for Culture, Madžgalj, with its exhibition, presented the current moment of living on our planet in the best way.
"Madžgalj's portraits contain strong psychological charges and a huge expression, which is looking for space", said Blažević.
The exhibition will be open during the Mojkovac film autumn.
