The opening of the 16th Guitar Art Summer Fest in Herceg Novi will be opened tonight with a concert by a world-famous guitarist Tommy Emanuela i Vlatka Stefanovski who will hold their concerts at Kanli Kula at 20.30:22 p.m. or XNUMX p.m. The large and varied concert program of this festival is held at various locations, the famous stages of the Old Town, the Kanli Kula, the Forte Mare fortress and the Music Square, and many well-known names of rock, jazz, flamenco, ethno and classical guitars will perform.
"The festival gained momentum and popularity, both at the national and international level, thanks to top artists and excellent teachers who participate in the festival, which is unique in the symbiosis of educational and concert programs, with numerous accompanying programs such as exhibitions and lectures." the organizers announced.
Although the opening was announced for yesterday, due to the three days of mourning declared by the Government of Montenegro on the occasion of the unprecedented tragedy in Cetinje and the murder of ten people, Tommy Emanuel's concert will be held tonight, and the organizers note that previously purchased tickets are also valid for the new date of the concert, i.e. that no replacement required.
This year, the festival is opened by Emanuel, who during his half-century-long career visited the Balkans several times and delighted the audience every time. "Rolling Stone" magazine named him the best guitarist of 1990, while the readers of "Guitar Player" magazine voted Emanuel the best acoustic guitarist of all time.
When it comes to the concert of Vlatko Stefanovski with the Kragujevac Academic Accordion Orchestra Accordionist, as always, a spectacle is expected, this time with acoustic-electric guitars and an orchestra of 30 accordions. From 22 p.m., the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy a specially prepared program for this occasion, which will include acts Piacola, Morricone and Stefanovski in new arrangements.
Classical guitar virtuosos from Montenegro will perform tomorrow at Trg od muzike, including the Duende duo Aleksandra Tepavčević i Ivana Cikić. The duo performs the works of some of the most important composers of guitar literature, including: F. Tarega, I. Albenis, E. Gismonti, A. Pjacola and many others. The second part of the evening was reserved for the talented guitarist Petar Dobričanin, winner of numerous awards, who performed at concerts throughout Europe, as well as at prestigious festivals held in the region.
"Now the iconic concerts on the Music Square in the Old Town have free admission", the organizers point out and announce that a day later, a Herzegovinian classical guitarist will perform Aleksandar Bubanja, which will be a unique opportunity for the local audience to hear him.
On the same evening, in the second part of the program, he performs Cenk Erdogan a world-renowned guitarist who performs in the United States and Europe, and who in 2020 received a Grammy Award for his collaboration with By Jim Kimo West in the "Best New Age Album" category. His last tour was realized with the International Guitar Night Project when he played with L. Strikaljonij, Samuelita, A. Bojer, M. Doza, Dž. K. Vestom i Father Soikeli, and then they played a total of 83 concerts in America, Canada and Germany.

The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on August 20 at the Music Square, and the evening is reserved for one of the best Spanish classical guitarists of the younger generation Rafael Aguirre. In the 2021/22 season, he made his debut with the National Orchestra of Spain, the São Paulo State Symphony and the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, performing ten different concertos for guitar and orchestra. He performed in halls such as Carnegie Hall, Verbier Festival Hall, Konzerthaus, Tchaikovsky Hall, St. Petersburg Philharmonic and many others.
Traditionally, the 16th Guitar Art Summer Fest will close with a recital of the best Montenegrin professors, students and students of classical guitar, the organizers point out.
