An exceptional event for the culture of Montenegro, at the same time the "top" of this year's manifestation "Ćirilica", according to the assessment of the academician, prof. Ph.D Siniša Jelušić, represents the publication and promotion of Collected Works Stefan Mitro's Ljubiša.
The critical edition includes five books: "Battle on Vis, translations and essays", "Montenegrin and coastal stories", "Vuk Dojčević's stories", "Speech and articles" and "Letters", published by the Budva National Library, Obodsko slovo and Štampar Makarije in cooperation with the "Svetozar Marković" University Library from Belgrade. The critical edition was presented the night before last at the sixth "Ćirilica" Literary Festival, and Jelušić praised the contribution of the editor for "Collected Works". Radomir Uljarević, Mile Baljević i Aleksandra Jerkova.
"I already believe that this is the most complete edition so far and that we are facing a kind of continuous progression of the relationship towards Ljubiša himself, which culminates in the publication of this whole of his work. Ljubiša is not a writer who is easy to read, you should know that right away, but he is a writer who needs full attention and concentration. There is no doubt, as a kind of axiom from which we start, that Ljubiša is current, present, and it seems to me that he still proves to be unusually theoretically interesting and stimulating", pointed out Jelušić.
Literary critic and publisher Gojko Božović he pointed out during the evening that moments make us privileged, and that one of those moments is the moment when Ljubisa is talked about in the Old Town, in the area he wrote about and where he inhabited his heroes. Budva, Maini, Paštrovići, Pobori, Drobni pijesak and Sveti Stefan are, according to him, a microcosm from which the world of Ljubiša's prose starts, but it does not stop there, which is a special preciousness.
"We are also privileged because we are also talking about the Collected Works of Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša, which at the moment have five published books and together with two more books of selected reviews they will represent the sum of Ljubiša's work together with some of the most important texts written about him for different reasons and with different ambitions. We are, therefore, talking about a real example of capital publishing, because the works of a writer who, it is true, was also published in some earlier editions, are published, but it seems to me that a writer of Ljubiša's format must be constantly present among readers, in libraries and bookstores, and that in different editions, from individual editions to this very reliable edition, which contains the whole of Ljubiša and in which we can follow his literary, human and political development.
Božović added that the five books that make up the Collected Works show Ljubiša as a complete writer of almost all genres, but also how he himself changed.
Director of the University Library "Svetozar Marković", prof. Dr. Aleksandar Jerkov, who is the author of the section "Instead of the Preface" in Book One, pointed out that this edition has a complex organizational and technical background. Budva and the "Svetozar Marković" library, he pointed out, started a nice collaboration.
"Cooperation went in different directions and at one point we reached the point that we could make this kind of venture. I spent a few nice summers working on the jury for the 'Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša' award, when we dealt with some publications in another way and I prepared the book 'Mediterranean stories' Milorad Pavić, which is the product of everything. So I have a feeling for Ljubiša that was especially attached to my wonderful and immortal for me New Vuković, who adored Ljubiša in a special way", said Jerkov.
Jerkov pointed out that this edition is not strictly academic, but rather a clear, refined book with a standardized critical text, published as a contribution to the fact that Ljubiša is poetically and literary-historically relevant today.
Jelušić also added that Ljubiša has not been fully read by the author, and that not all of his meanings have been derived and analyzed.
"Modern theories should be included there, first of all Ekova the theory of opera aperta, an open work that gives us great opportunities to go further and that in that correspondence between the reader, the reception of the text and the text itself, new meanings can be reached. It seems to me that he is still a very open writer and that there is the possibility of new research and results. Language is a special asset. I don't know if it is planned within this edition, but one supplement could be made with an excellent dictionary of Ljubiša's work. It is interesting that Ljubiša never spoke about literature as a special expression, like fiction, imagination, creativity, autonomy. On the contrary, he wants to record, preserve, almost archive what he thought was "inevitably decaying", and in that it is a great wealth and should be preserved. So, to a large extent, you have a kind of poetic documentary on which he rationally insists, and something else emerges from under that rationality, which is a truly authentic literary work that does not exclude the aspect of documentary, but even greatly deepens it. This is the enormous richness of the mythic-ethnographic-anthropological level of his work and we are there, I would say, even at the beginning and we could expect further results. In this sense, there are good expectations for the December gathering, where we will have another conversation about this then completed edition of these works," Jelušić pointed out.
She was the moderator of the evening Stanka Radjenovic from the Budva Public Library, which, together with the Association of Publishers and Booksellers of Montenegro, organizes the festival "Ćirilica". After 15 days, tonight the program closes with the performance about Mitrofan Ban, "The Man of Height", which will be performed at 21:XNUMX p.m. on the Square between the churches.
